Not very busy on friday at lunch, but This allowed for a quiet & leisurely meal in the classic dining room tucked deep inside the Chase Park Plaza. Service was exceptional. Tenderloin sandwich was gigantic & very tender-no fat/gristle. Will try again soon for dinner.
Great night out. We spent an evening in the CWE and ended up at the Tenderloin Room at the Chase. It was a memorable meal starting with fantastic crab cakes as an appetizer. My entree was a cowboy ribeye, bone in, cooked to a perfect med rare with wonderful mash and green beans and the other entree was lamb chops which were like butter. I suggest trying it out, it is a little pricey but worth the little extra.

The Tenderloin room is one of those restaurants that is hard to find anymore. The atmosphere is elegant. The music is soft. The staff are on top of every detail to make sure your meal is the best it can be.
You are not rushed through your meal. You can eat it as slow or fast as you like.
The food. How can you describe it? My pepperloin was so tender that a knife is not needed.
I am not a big meat lover so it has to be good beef and cooked just right before I want it and I can say they do it just right.
Everything from top notch alcohol for your before dinner drink to a wonderful dessert to go with your coffee after dinner, every detail is not only delicious but beautiful.

My wife and I ate here on a Thursday night, and it was an excellent choice. We both loved the ambiance. Our server was Ryan, and he was fantastic. There was also a busboy/asst server that deserves credit, but we didn't get his name. Between the two of them, we never had to wait for anything. It was easily the best service I've received in STL*.
We started off with the beef carpaccio which was amazing, would absolutely recommend. We shared a ribeye which was excellent but fell just shy of being at that level where when you take a bite, you sit back, close your eyes, and just surrender to the flavor. While the steak didn't quite get there, the tenderloin room shrooms absolutely did. Easily my favorite thing we had. The twice baked garlic potatoes were fantastic but didn't have as much garlic as I thought they would. Finally, the creamy spinach was good, but everything else we had was better. We also got a regular (not the smoked) old fashion, glory ruth, and irish crush. All of the drinks were delicious and on point.
*The one negative I have is that if you want to take anything home, you need to proactively tell them. They didn't ask us if we wanted to take home anything, and we had a decent amount of food left. The service was so impeccable up to that point that when they took our plates without asking, we thought they knew to box it up. That aside, we would and absolutely will come back again... we'll just be sure to not make that assumption again.
The area around is a bit sketchy, but there is valet available. We had Bo as our server and he was personable and fun. We really enjoyed his company. The food was great, but if you're sensitive to sodium, everything is a tad too salty. Steaks are lovely and the steak sauce is good. I highly recommend the chocolate cake with ice cream. Very delicious!!
The bread and honey butter is amazing!! God was delicious, very hot, and service is amazing. I Recommend this place!
Went for a private room party and was very impressed with the resturant be willing to offer a vegetarian option.

Recently reopened and beautifully appointed, new life has been breathed into one of St. Louis's most beloved steakhouses. Soft blue fabric-covered booths line the dark mahogany walls. Service is attentive and ongoing. Bread service with house made butter. Order all of the courses for full effect, and be prepared to take home leftovers. Or just get the steak this place has been famous for since the '70s and top it with butter or sauce of choice-- all are sure to be delicious!
Great spot for a date or to do business. No dress code, but I'd wear something with a collar. Stroll the beautiful Chase Park Plaza hotel after you eat, or save room for a dessert at one of the other establishments in the property--or down the block in the Central West End.
If you're into wine, you won't be disappointed with the Tenderloin's offerings. If you're not a meat eater, your selections will be limited, although the creamed spinach was one of our favorite tastes of the night!

The Tenderloin Room is one of our favorite restaurants. Every visit here is memorable, enjoyable, and worth the visit. If you have bad service here, then I don’t believe you. The staff are friendly, personable, and they treat us like friends versus customers. If you’re a bourbon person, try a smoked old fashioned. Simply put, we love the TR, and writing this review makes me want to go right now.
I took hubby here for his birthday because I wanted 5 five star dining. It was money well spent. The service was out of this world along with the food. Definitely going back. You know its real classy when you have coat check. We tipped over a $100 because everyone was awesome and they had everything I wanted for when we got there (romantic setup).
I don't understand the negative reviews about this place. It's a steak house. The service is amazing and cocktails are some of the best in towns. Their house sauce is one of those things people will either love or hate.
