The macarons I got on National Macaroni Day are amazing! They also have the most amazing bourbon pecan rolls, and you can't go wrong with any flavor of croissant! They are the best I've ever tasted in the country!

National Macaron Day! Very well organized even though it was super crowded. Waited an hour in line but so worth it. Luckily the STL weather cooperated (sort of). The Macarons are wonderful as usual. Had to get a few ‘Darkness’ croissants while there as they are my absolute fave thing. This should be a must do if you are in STL.
Wow, what a stunning place. The decor is so Chic & French you'd think you're in Paris. I tried their afternoon high tea, and the food was pretty good. Their bakery items are a work of art and you pay the price for it. But if you're looking for a truly elegant afternoon tea, this is your spot! I went with my grandma, mother, & my aunt. We had a lovely afternoon.
The most delicious macaroons with tons of fun flavored that are always changing! They also feature a lot of other fun pastries and great breakfast quiche! What a charming little bakery.
With the holidays just around the corner, you’ve got a lot of entertaining, gift buying, and, more importantly, gift receiving ahead of you. Impress your friends and family with a box of goodies from La Patisserie Chouquette, my go-to for all things sugary and delicious. I took it upon myself to go and try all their winter offerings so I could tell you what you need to be getting (or asking for). I’m sorry in advance for making you hungry.
My favorite way to spend a Saturday is to go to La Patisserie Chouquette, buy one of everything “for later”, then shamefully eat half the box in the car. After the guilt wears off, I hop back on the highway and go to Salume Beddu for lunch and do the same thing, substituting pastries for pork.
I think Chouquette’s creations speak for themselves, so I’m going to let them. Here’s a collection of recent purchases I’ve made there. Chouquette, Early Spring, 2015.
Incredible French Pastries and very chic interior. Try the chicory coffee! Date Posted: Jul 28, 2013 Category: Cafe , French , Pastries Address: 1626 Tower Grove Ave Saint Louis, MO 63110 This place is simply amazing. Imagine walking into a pastry shop in France, except it’s in St. Louis in Tower Grove North! We were blown away by the sheer variety of delectable treats! Tea Service They offer a tea service that includes lovely sandwiches, scones, and more of their wonderful pastries. Tea Service (Sandwiches) Speaking of the pastries, they have a very wide selection of some amazing French confections. They have a wide variety that changes everyday and so far we have not had anything that wasn’t heavenly in appearance, flavor, and texture. You really need to try this place out if you have not already. Choux – Salted Caramel Filling The only complaint I can think of the place is that the neighborhood is a little rough looking, but the Botanical Heights area is up and coming and may soon be “the place” in St. Louis. Macaroons Also, La Patisserie Chouquette is currently giving in to the Cronut craze with their own “faux-nut”, so there may be some days when the normal operations are halted as the place is swamped with faux-nut enthusiasts. Bananas Foster Bombe Pros : Incredible pastries, both sweet and savory. Chic interior. Cons : Questionable neighborhood, but in up and coming area. Charlie’ Favorites : Bananas Foster Bombe, Chicory Coffee, Crepe Cake Christine’s Favorites : Choux, Lavender Cake, Bananas Fos
Chouquette continues to crush all competitors. The closest place to this in quality is the Kim Dok Won Bakery in Creve Coeur/Chesterfield. No, don’t even try to compare it to La Bonne Bouchee. Chouquette wins.
I’m very happy that Simone Faure chose to open her shop here in St. Louis. Her and her team’s pastries and cakes have all been fantastic. I love that you can go and find traditional classics as well as seasonal and daily specials. There’s obviously a lot of love and care behind what is put out every day. If you haven’t been down to check our La Patisserie Chouquette, you need to do so. Have a light breakfast and tea in the store, then mosey over to Olio for lunch. Then go back over for dessert.
I was in line at 8:30am this morning in Tower Grove. Ms. Faure came out around 8:45 with a platter of canneles, stating proudly “Dominique Amsel isn’t giving out samples.” Damn straight madame (PS great canneles). A few minutes later, tickets were distributed–maximum of four per person–for the cronuts. The popular choice was to max out the limit in order to get one of each flavor, plus a spare. The cronut varieties offered: pistachio, salted caramel, and strawberries and cream.
No culture in St. Louis? For shame. I'll grant you that you might have to look a little harder, but I think that's part of the charm of the city. Certainly however, Le Patisserie Chouquette adds culture and increases the culinary IQ to the city. A little taste of France in the middle of the city. I will warn you that a trip won't necessarily be cheap, but the occasional splurge will be certainly worth your while.
LOVE this place! The staff are friendly, patient, ready to explain things, and incredibly nice. I have yet to find something here I do not enjoy.
Pictured, from my last visit I got a bourbon bun, a citron tart, and a few macarons. Everything is always delicious, and perfect. The dedication to their pastries is astounding, and I have not found a better pastry shop in STL yet!
The atmosphere is also beautiful, the inside is gorgeous and will make you want to sit down and enjoy yourself for a while
Always a treat to stop by
So, so, so good!!! I am a huge fan of French pastries. Their macarons were so good and amazing. I would go early as they sell out quickly. I got the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and sweet potato macarons. Nothing disappointed all were beyond my expectation. Thanks so much. If I come to St. Louis, again, I will be going and highly recommend.
Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable staff. Food and drinks are amazing! Excellent techniques, knowledge of higher level skills/techniques, and able to pull them off. My wife says, "Very much yes"
Everything was delicious! We had a variety of Harry Potter themed treats, both sweet and savory. And the Dalgona coffee? Amazing.
Picked up their blueberry & peach cheese pie for Thanksgiving and it was such a hit and probably my favorite pie in STL! So so good. The crust is so flaky!!! Looking forward to their Christmas afternoon tea!
Delicious pastry and savoury. We also got our birthday cake from them. It was pretty nice. Only thing with the cake was they didn’t have much varieties, but everyone loved that cake. It’s also so nice that if one goes there at noon on weekends, they won’t get most of the stuff.
My family had Tea Time to celebrate my birthday and it was AMAZING! The menu was really varied and everyone enjoyed trying so many different items. We had tea, savory foods, and lots of yummy deserts. The presentation was beautiful and the service was impeccable. We all - husband, 16 YO daughter, & 13 YO son - had a great experience.
Sparkling hibiscus-5 star
Iced Vietnamese Cold Brew-5 star
Canele - rum cake with crunchy outside..delicious!
Almond Croissant-very flaky and delicious just what you’re hoping it would be.
Everything was super!
-the pic of the box is 2 treats taking home!!
We have literally never had anything bad here. Everything is fantastic, and while some things are not to our taste, I can't think of anything that has been anything less than stellar quality. We can come in and grab one or two pastries, take them home, and enjoy them over tea, and that is more than enough for us (but we usually get a lot more than that because it's all so good). The drinks are fantastic as well. Try the chef's survival coffee if you dare! It's certainly interesting, and I'm glad I tried it once, but plenty of people love it, so I can't argue.
Get a croissant, especially a Darkness if you can snag one before they sell out! We've heard from friends who have been to France that these croissants are the best they've had in St. Louis by far, and the chef's classical training is clear in the quality of everything that they produce. Coupled with a bunch of modern twists, there is something here for everyone!
We love everything about this location. I and my kids live close and visit often. The workers are amazing The owner Mrs Simone is so nice and welcomes everyone that comes through the door. Her dessert always tastes great I love her corn muffins and brownies. My son has tried every macaron she has. She makes my kids' birthday cakes that look good and taste even better. I will say she sells fast so get there early.
