I have been coming here for years. I am a straight woman and my fiance and I come all the time. It is comfortable, welcoming, and the best place to get a drink that is worth your money! I bring my employees, friends, and family and now everyone still goes there without me!
I love this place. Been going for about 7 years now, and wouldnt pick any othet bar over it. They have the best longisland in town. The staff here is friendly, drinks are cheap, and you meet some of the coolest people. My friends love it here and so do I.
I enjoyed my time here. This place was actually my first LGBTQ bar. People are friendly. Especially the workers. Sadly I moved back home to Cali so won’t be able to come back 😭 but thank you.
**UPDATED**
The owner and manager care about making this a welcoming and safe bar. They went out of their way to meet with us and learn about the pup community and start hosting us! I'm excited to see how the future of our community grows with The Sun Trap.
I love a good queer bar, but you better believe I keep going back because they have the best bartender, Natalie. She is the queen of The Sun Trapp.
Awesome place to be and have drink! Saturday and Sundays are the best. They care for safety and acceptance
It's honestly a great bar with great prices. With workers who see you more than a customer, but someone who desevers their respect. A little chessy, but they truly can see people that way compared to the other bars near there. And with great atmosphere and games, and relevant tv shows.
Stopped by to use the restroom because The Complex hadn’t opened its doors for my concert. Nice folks. Clean bathroom.
This has become more of a neighborhood bar where everyone is welcome. It doesn't feel especially gay or straight but just very welcoming. The bartenders are polite, friendly and respectful. The drinks are a solid value. My only caution from years past is that there have been some car break-ins, not so much at the bar, but in the area with parking so public transit or an Uber/Lyft may be better (and that does eliminate the driving under the influence concern).
I think it's the best bar with the best bartenders in Salt Lake. Bud light and all. Very chill. And best prices.
I've been to pretty much all of the gay bars in town. I always end up having more fun at Sun-Trapp. There are bigger, fancier bars; however, it's here that is actually more fun and that fills up the most. I attribute that to the DJs, who actually pay attention when the crowd doesn't like a song and fix it. Fridays are packed, and Saturdays are super-packed. I don't feel judged if I'm not wearing name brand.
Ten or more years ago there was an older, sadder crowd here and it was more about a cowboy theme. But now, the vibe is college-aged, and I like it because everyone dances and there is just more energy. There are also some straight people in the mix, but I also like that because my straight friends will go.
Other bars want a $10 cover and the drinks are more expensive. I've left other bars that don't fill up and that hasn't happened here for a long time.

Cheers for queers! It always feels like home here! Unlike a lot of LGBTQ+ spaces, it doesn’t feel like a meat market for attractive gay men only. As a trans woman I feel like this is not just a space I’m welcome in, but a space I’m celebrated in. Cannot recommend more!
