Some times fate leads you to places you may never have discovered otherwise. Fate was definitely smiling on me this past Saturday. It was my son’s 4th birthday party which started off with a birthday lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. Definitely not the culinary experience I was expecting, but what more can you ask for with a 4-year-old? After a fabulous visit to the zoo where we happened to be walking right next to the sea-lion exhibit at 3 pm when the zoo keepers came out and started feeding the seals and sea-lion. We got front row view to see their splashing and tricks. It was very cool! After the zoo, our plan was to head over to Gourmandaise to pick up a birthday cake, when as we were driving down 300 S, we came up to a red light at 500 East. I caught up ahead just to the right a sign that said Blue Poblano Taqueria. Something about the place just gave out a cool vibe, and I quickly talked my family into going there after we picked up the birthday cake. It really was a throw of the dice. It could have been bad, but this is how you find diamonds in the rough. Ladies and Gentleman, this was definitely my lucky day.
Great Southwestern food! It's a very small place with a warm, friendly and exclusive feel to it! I was very impressed with the reception and service. The food was very fresh and tasted outstanding. Also, the wait was minimal and prices are reasonable theoughout the menu. I will definitely eat here again in the near future and highly recommend this restuarant to everyone. Keep up the great work!
Great staff, medium wait, both times I've been here the food between myself and my girlfriend were amazing. The tortilla chips on the nachos were fresh made, the burrito I had was a 4.5 out of 5, and the Navajo Tea was also great. The only thing I'm missing is a good Dos Equis, no liquor license yet. Small eateries with really good food deserve really good ratings.
The Tacos looks fancy and I feel cool eating them. I love to sit in the front window of this hip restaurant. The servers have always had such great attitudes every time I come here, and I like that they keep me informed on how long my food will take (which is good, cause I'm a fat tipper).
Last time I ordered the Fries, I was not able to finish them. I have not had the burgers yet, but I saw a guy eating one and I really wanted it. I really do love this place and I would recommend it to EVERYBODY. p.s. try the
"El Pastor".
Go here once, you will become a regular. Everything is fantastic. Fast food price for high quality food. We walked in and placed our order immediately. Started getting antsy when the wait was around 20 minutes. After tasting the food however, I would have waited 45 minutes. Portions are generous. This review comes from two Texans so we know our tacos!
This is a new Mexican fave. Great taco/burrito options and the Margaritas are pretty decent for SLC. The place is always busy in the evening, and due to limited seating, no alcohol service outside and few servers, you should expect to wait awhile. The servers are good people working their tails off, and aside from long wait times we've always enjoyed the meal.
Absolutely the best TACOs in the city! I first tasted Blue Poblano at Granary Row a couple summers back when they had a portable taco stand and was knocked silly by how ridiculously good they were! (Do I sound a bit effusive?!) I begged, hoped, wished they would be coming to Salt Lake, as they were based in Provo. Imagine my dazzled delight when I found they had moved downtown!!!
I will be eating here AT LEAST once a wk and have been promoting it to everyone I know. They've been closed to remodel and unfortunately its taken longer than they projected, but I'm happy to say they are finished.
Once you bite into one of these tacos, you'll know you're eating something special and you'll only want more. The way they prepare their meats... how they taste... it'll knock your socks off. Do yourself a favor and support this incredible new local establishment.
Can't wait to sit and enjoy the incredible taste which is BLUE POBLANO!
Absolutely amazing! I went there after my engagement pictures looking for something delicious to eat, and it exceeded my expectation! Absolutely delicious! It's located in a cozy corner of salt lake but the food is full of flavor and definitely unique! I've been back 4 times since. Everytime I'm in town it's my go to spot!
Very unique and delicious! They use a blend of flour and corn for their tortillas. Great flavors and a nice twist on southwest Mexican food.
No beer or wine, but you can order next door at Dick and Dixies and they have a pass through to deliver your food while you enjoy your adult beverage of choice.

Staff was friendly and helpful...the tacos... are F-ING awesome. I can't eat tacos anywhere else again. The cheese fries are delicious as well. Unfortunately this place is really close to my house, so I am probably going to gain a few pounds. Highly recommended.
Best Al pastor tacos, I've had in Utah.
Service takes a minute, but on their menu it states, everything is fresh, so it isn't bad considering.
Location is very cool, and I really liked the atmosphere.
