The day I ate dinner here the weather was bad but this place is good. On a nice day this would be a great place to eat, hang out for awhile and drink some good beers. It’s counter ordering which I like and they bring your food to you when it’s ready. I got the burnt end melt which I think is what Guy got when he visited for DDD. I also got the house pickles and a beer. I wish I would’ve got one more small item to eat because I was hungry and the food was delicious. I also liked the fact that it was not in the middle of downtown so it wasn’t super busy. That could have also been due to the weather.

So I'm out on a business trip and of course, looking for a Guy Fieri Triple D recommendations and up pops Dignowity Meats. We took a Lift to the restaurant and settled on a KC Burnt Ends Brisket sandwich. We had everything on it which requires two things...you like everything and plenty of napkins. Needless to say, Guy did us right. We also had the cheesy cheddar Mac which was exactly all that. The service was good but not outstanding but the food made up for it. Would I go back you ask? You bet!

You can go to the Northside, or one of the more affluent sides of town, where some of the more trendy eateries make their home. And sure, the food is decent/safe, if that's all it takes to satisfy your palate. Or, you can shrug off any misconceptions you have about the east side of town and experience one of San Antonio's hidden gems. Dignowity meats is a humble little eatery that if you weren't looking for it, you'd drive right past it. Although you would be making a mistake by doing so. A friendly outdoor spot, with great beers on tap, and exceptional food coming out of the kitchen. If you're looking for a down-to-earth spot that is inviting, appetizing, as well as a chill spot to kick back and relax, then look no further. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my first time here and I enjoyed my meal. I had the burnt ends melt, which was full of cheesy goodness, delicious meat, and the bread was soft with a perfect crispy crust. They offer traditional deli sandwiches as well. I'll come another time to get the turkey caprese. The Mac and cheese was good. Nice roux and flavor. Wouldn't have minded more cheese in the mix, but just nitpicking. Overall it's a place you should definitely try.

On this recent visit I had the smoked pastrami sandwich. It is easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Simple yet delicious. The pastrami had excellent flavor and texture. The Swiss cheese was nice and melted, the mustard was great and the toasted rye bread topped it off.

This place has a great vibe! Definitely worth checking out. They even had trivia while we were there. The food was good, not the best I’ve had but overall good. Mine wasn’t as warm/fresh as I would have hoped for but it was still decent. Overall I feel like the atmosphere it what makes this place, it was great weather, super cute, great company.

Went to this place yesterday and it did not disappoint. The food was hot and flavorful! The environment is great. We will definitely be back for karaoke night or trivia night. The owner took our order and made great suggestions then came by the table to make sure we were satisfied. Awesome experience and a nice way to escape the chain restaurants around downtown and the river walk.

I grew up in Kansas City, worked at a barbecue restaurant all through high school, married into a Texas family filled with competitive barbecuers, and go out of my way to find good 'cue. Dignowity Meats is one of the best I have ever had. I live 3 hours away, but if I'm San Antonio and want barbecue, it's Dignowity. I've never had a bad meal, but either of their burnt end sandwiches are absolutely amazing. If you don't want to clog your arteries, their turkey caprese sandwich is also a great choice.

Nice restaurant just east of downtown. They have a separate menu and ordering system for lunch during the week and for dinner in the evenings and on weekends. The lunch menu has more deli sandwiches while the dinner menu has more cooked and fried foods. Came on a weekend, so ordered from the dinner menu. I believe it's all outside dining area with about 12-15 picnic type tables. There was plenty of shade and fans to keep the area cool even in the hot summer heat. You order you food at the bar and they bring the food out to your table. The bartender was very helpful in explaining the menu and gave a few recommendations. Wasn't sure of the portion sizes, so ordered a little bit of everything. They're known for their Burnt End Melt Sandwich which is their burnt ends brisket, mac & cheese, pears, and cheese on ciabatta bread. I was hesitant about the mac & cheese in the sandwich, but it was really good. It really just complements the cheese and the macaroni just adds a different type of texture. Also ordered the buttermilk fried chicken quarters and eastside hot chicken. I was expecting just a drumstick, but was surprised at the large portions. Both were very crispy and flavorful. The hot chicken wasn't that spicy, it just gave a little kick different than the buttermilk fried chicken. Tried a few sides of the sharp cheddar mac, cream cheese corn bake, pickles and granny apple slaw. They were all good and a good price for the small portions. Good food and service. The bar staff and those who brought the food out were very polite. Will have to come back during the week at lunch time to try the lunch menu. The deli sandwiches sound good, too bad they're not served on the weekend. Recommend giving this place a try.

Really nice ambient only has outdoor seating but they have fans and citronella candles to keep flies away. The food was really good I had the brisket sandwich with Mac and cheese and a Mexican Coke. I would definitely recommend this place for the ambience they have a really good beer selection and food is good. Parking is not that great but there is and abandoned building that you can park at just across the street.
