The food and service were excellent and just like we remembered but we were saddened that we were the only dine in customers when we arrived. We would often frequent the restaurant when my husband worked on that side of town a number of years ago and it was always packed. Today we decided to try having lunch there. We parked around the back of the building and walking up, the place looked abandoned. We almost walked back to the car. The exterior glass was very dirty and there was a large white sign with red letters near the door. Without reading it, it looked like a "for lease" sign. It turned out to be a "now hiring" sign. The bank next door has since moved out adding to the abandoned look but we could see the door was cracked so upon opening it there were servers there waiting but every table was empty. We were the only dine in customers for quite a while. By the time we left, 3 other tables were occupied and they did serve customers with pick up orders. The food was still excellent and service was wonderful. A few slight changes to the exterior might draw in more customers.
Really liked this Chinese Restaurant. The portions were generous, and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the prices, too. They have good specials, and the dinner menu has so much to choose from. We enjoyed our meal very much having the sweet and sour chicken and the beef and broccoli with delicious fried rice.
The soups that came with the meal were also very good and full of flavor not bland like some restaurants. We will definitely be coming back.
A classic saying of “never judge a book by its cover” certainly describes my first impression here . The restaurant was completely empty when I walked in , as I ordered my food to go I noticed the blue plate award which is very coveted in San Antonio . I will simply say this Beifang did not disappoint I ordered Shrimp and lobster sauce with Shrimp toast appetizer. The main course was fabulous fresh everything without over cooked vegetables. The shrimp toast was just as I’d hoped but the bonus was I got an egg roll and crab Rangoon with my meal . I went at supper so everything was a bit more $14.95 for the main course and $9.95 for the appetizer but I’d rather pay that to a local family business then a chain . Did I mention the egg roll had a flavor of my youth ? YUM!
I walked out as happy as the little guy who greets you when you walk in
