The New Schlotzky's Original Wellsky. The Original Schlotzky has got to be one of my favorite sandwiches. The porous sour dough bread, sliced meats and salad toppings make for such a great flavor combination. That's what we were expecting to get today from this new location near Ralph Fair Rd.
However, I will have to agree, at least in part, with the first reviewer. The bread had a bit of an unidentifiable taste and it was also unusually dry and crusty on the surface (you can see this in my pictures). The owner, it turns out, is aware of the situation.
It seems that the water in the area used to make the dough is affecting the baking process. Once the owner said this, I remembered that there was a restaurant in the immediate area many years ago that had the most atrocious tasting ice water and tea. They said it was from the well water that they used.
This Schlotzky's is doing what they can in terms of water filtration to alleviate the problem. Sure hope they can because the difference in bread taste and texture was very evident to us.
If they can't, maybe they can spin the situation to tout a new Schlotzky sandwich served solely at this location with bread dough made from only the best local Texas well water!

Always made to perfection! The employees are friendly, and things are done quickly! They get your order right and out. No waiting or getting frustrated for simple mistakes here!
At one of my visits, there was a lady who ordered a sandwich, and the sandwich included onions. Well, the lady noticed, and before she took say anything.....the employee offered to remake the whole!!! That is great customer service!

The employees are very nice PLUS it was clean .
Even though the company and location was experiencing an outage,
I took a chance and called the location because the doors were locked.
Paul, the manager answered the phone and took a shoot at faith and his front counter machine.
He was able to take my order. Trista took care of the rest, for my for first time here, I am grateful that they were working.

One of my favorite sandwich places. Great staff here as well. Had an issue redeeming an offer and they helped me out without hesitation and I got my free chips. Great service! Prices are a little expensive but you definitely get your money's worth. I always get the Deluxe Original in medium size. I recommend only if you're very hungry!
Quick during lunch rush. Good customer service and good food.
I visited again and the place was even better. One of the best sandwiches I've had had at a Schlotzkys since I started eating there in the 1970s.
