Had a wonderful mothers day lunch yesterday at the walzem location!! It was busy and packed, as would be expected, but the staff was very efficient!! Things went smoothly. We got seated, and had a very sweet waitress who was very attentive. Service was great and food was delicious!
I have been visiting this location for years. A couple of months a go the staff was really bad, very young people waiting tables and they were more concerned with friends there. I was there yesterday and the wait staff is different and these guys were exceptional, attentive and very appraochable.
So I was compelled to review Luby's on Walzem Rd., because of the way I was treated. The quality of food has greatly improved; I have been to this Luby's all my life growing up in Converse. There was a long line and I did have to wait to order take out, but once I ordered, the gent really took care of me. I appreciated his attention, he is a manager and I believe his name is Abdul.
I ordered the fried fish and it was good, in the past it had too much white milky flour between the fish and the crust. I hope I didn't gross anyone out, but today Luby's was like the good old Luby's days.

All You Can Eat!. Love that you can get all the fish and vegetables that you can eat, along with countless other menu items, that are so tasty! Wish all of the Luby's restaurants had this style.

Love this location. Fast service in line, the waitstaff is nice. Carpets need cleaning.
Food is hot, soft, not dry, chicken is bomb, liver is amazing. Gotta love the cafeteria style forever around Luby's.
This Lubys is different... It's an all you can eat Lubys... except desserts and drinks, (you pay separately for drinks then can get refills).
If you love Lubys like I love Lubys.. this is a must visit place. Now you won't get the rib eye and shrimp here but you will get what I call Lubys staples... fish, chicken, and beef.. most of the normal veggies, salad & breads.

Food is cafeteria style and at this Luby's on Walzum Road it is all you can eat. Food is very tasty and a lot of comfort food to choose from. The cabbage was really good. Carpets needs cleaning.
Food is great.. esp the fried fish.. come'on you know everybody loves the fish.. I really like that it's a buffet.. and my server Ada was always right on time with refills and more food.. I'll always eat here..
