Lovely place - we stopped for a drink here before dinner on the first night in San Diego and returned for a drink the next 2 nights. Very friendly staff & pleasant place to drink.

The Living Room is actually an old 50s style house the converted into a coffee shop and it still has that feel. There are eclectic art pieces some of which are from local artists and available for purchase. The tables and chair are a well loved pastiche of hand me downs and garage sale finds. And to top it off they are open from 6am until at least 1am everyday which makes it an ideal study place. My husband and I share a pot of (decaf) Earl Grey tea and a two egg breakfast with sourdough toast, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, country potatoes and four slices of bacon. They have free Wifi, good food, attentive service and as many free hot water free refills for our teapot as we want. While I do love this place, unfortunately I’m not the only one so it can be pretty busy at times, especially during finals. They also have no study tables where you have to eat and run. Even reading a book at one of those marked tables is frowned upon.

Good vibe. Elderly parents, young adult niece and I on a quest for dessert near San Diego State found The Living Room last night to be just what we wanted. Cozy place in what I'm sure was at one time a residence, now a casual restaurant and coffeehouse with free wi-fi and delicious dessert selection. Tres Leche Cake and Bread Pudding servings were more than generous and very good. Nice vibe...a place to go with friends, family, kids, on a first date or alone. Highly recommend it.

This is the absolute perfect place to go for just about anything. Study, read a book, catch up for hours with friends, eat a meal, or just sit in silence and enjoy a mocha. Their coffees are a little more expensive than average, but worth the price because the sizes are large. Food is good, service good, and atmosphere is everything you want from a coffee shop.

This place has only gotten better since I remember it. Used to go back here in high school and college to study. It didn’t have food, beer, wine, and kombucha back then. I had a power outage and 7 zoom meetings to be on. I just kept ordering coffee and food all day while plugged into a outlet and settled into a comfy and convenient chair and table and worked the day away while they just let me be. It was glorious.

I really like all of the tables that truly make the place feel like a living room! The only problem is that it's so comfortable, there are so many people, and there just is not available seating all the time. It's a really interesting business model to have people come and sit down and hang out as long as they want. Almost seems like you'd want them to leave to allow space for more customers. But it was nice.

Never disappoints, good for quick good food and coffee with a cozy atmosphere. Super friendly staff and awesome pastries! One thing I never enjoy here is using the restroom facilities, it doesn’t match the cute vibe of the place, it’s a bit of a gas station bathroom vibe, just a tip for management, not enough of a bother not to love this spot!

Really good freshly prepared food. I had the garlic aoli burger and a salad. Nice selection of coffee and tea. Very relaxing environment. The whole place looks like a giant living room. Lots of comfy couches and chairs. Students from SDSU come here to use the WIFI. My food was delicious. I shall return

Smells like cigarettes everywhere (inside and out) but cool spot and lots of food options. Coffee options are pretty sweet, so I ask for less sugar. Outlets to work too!

I just drove by this place on College avenue and I didn't know what it was but it looked attractive and I walked in...really nice, cozy, friendly and very good food! 😋 Addendum: since I have found this place I am coming here regularly now the food is really really good!! 😍

FREE COFFEE FOR POLICE OFFICERS! Yay! So, I have been patronizing this shop for years because the rotating staff is lovely and the coffee is consistent. I enjoy getting my work done here. Sometimes the food is way over salted and makes me parched but it's fine for the most part. Today, the owner's son is here with his buddies, sitting in the dead center of the cafe, being EXTREMELY INCONSIDERATE of the other people inside. He is being VERY LOUD, debating politics, showing videos on full volume, laughing out loud, and having a great time without any regard for the other humans around him. The other folks here are all just glancing at each other, kinda wondering he has any idea that there are other people in the coffee shop. I think it's great that he's connecting with his buddies but they're borderline shouting inside the cafe and making it impossible to study-- even with noise cancelling headphones on. Several people have gotten up and moved/ left the cafe. They should have one iota of respect for the other people around, who are speaking at a normal volume. This place is supposed to be European inspired and this behavior is unbearably anything but. Next time I come, if I see this obnoxious kid sitting here, I will just go someplace else. This place is great otherwise.

A+ first experience. It’s obvious that this is a popular place as soon as you arrive. Full tables, inside and out. The ordering and drink pick-up are a little awkward to navigate but not a total turn off. The espresso is tasty. Added a pump of English toffee to mine for a little ✨ razzle dazzle ✨. The other drink pictured is the “Green Lantern” (green tea, lemonade, mango). I enjoyed it but if unsweetened green tea is not your jam then I would stay away from this one. Spinach & cheese stuffed croissant 🤌🏽 Potatoes (with a little ketchup) 🤌🏽 Seasonal fruit 🤌🏽 A couple more pieces of fruit would’ve been nice but overall pricing seems to be on par for what you receive. I will definitely be returning.

My favorite mexican mocha. Getting parking is hard since its in a little neighborhood and their lot is always full, but usually only a minute or 2 walk away is the furthest you have to park

Was looking for a lil cafe/brunch spot in the area and this one looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. Pictured are the 2 skillets we got: Mexican (the one with avocado) and the Garden. Each comes with your choice of toast and fresh fruit. For my skillet I just chose to get an extra tortilla. The truffle fries are loaded with flavor and we're a great appetizer. Came with lots of condiments which I appreciated. They also had a display case full of desserts/pastries that we'd like to try next time! :)
