Lots of fresh offerings, including a unique Avocado & Pepper Jack cheese sandwich. Love it! The Mexican Chicken Tortilla soup goes very well with the Avocado Pepper Jack.
I come here all the time. The service is fast (I also order through Ritual). I love getting the Soup & Sandwich Pairing with Organic Tomato Bisque Soup + Turkey Pesto Sandwich. It's suuuuch a good combo! Always delicious tasting. Sometimes I like getting the Grandma Mary's Chicken Soup. I recently tried their Asian Tofu Salad and that was really good too!
While visiting the offices at One California building in San Francisco, I stopped off to grab a sandwich at Ladle & Leaf. The cafe offers both sandwiches and soups. The cafe has no indoor seating but offers exterior seating. The cafe also has salads, beverages, and half order of sandwiches. The Embarcadero Ferry Building is conveniently located.
It's not going to be the best soup you've had in your life, but it's probably one of the cheapest lunches you'll get in the FiDi. The staff is very nice and quick, so don't worry too much about the long line at noon. Only outdoor seating, but the table tops are designed with holes all over them - not the best for eating soup while wearing your business casual.
-When you need "the middle" compared to everything else around Union Square, i.e., amount of food: not too much, not too little...price: not too cheap, not too expensive...busy workday lunch: not too heavy, not too light...quality/taste: basic salads worth what you paid.
-And this team consistently comes in ready to work, order done the same way each time, same good speed every time, you're in and out. FYI great location, it's in a food court so if you want something else...and there's seating in here and all over the Crocker Galleria.
Love to come here for Grandma Mary's chicken soup. It's like homemade heartiness with chicken and chunks of celery, carrots, and noodles. They also have fresh and tasty salads and smoothies.
For a quick meal and your headed to Union Square, give this place a try. Fresh, tasty food (Thai-peanut salad was my pick) and corn chowder great choices.
My favorite grab-n-go lunch spot in downtown San Francisco. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is delicious!
The split pea soup is addicting!! Great place to take veg and non-veg folks for lunch - very important factor in SF!
Simple but good place for lunch and never too busy. Cross the street to eat in the sun on the Plaza instead of using the table just outside.
