Doobu is tiny but the decor is surprisingly hip. It is a mixture of traditional and contemporary.
Great service, even better food. We live in Japan Town area and this is one of our favorite spots. Friendly staff and surprisingly large portions of good food. Definitely worth it.
Really enjoyed the seafood pancakes and the oyster tofu soup.
I like how they serve the pancakes on the sizzling platter because if you let it sit for a while, the bottom gets nice and crispier. 👍
The tofu soup we ordered was medium spicy. I will try spicier next time because it was light on the spiciness. Overall, would like to come back again for more tofu and pancakes. 😀
Can be slow but food tastes good and comforting. The bibimbap portion is a lot and thats great! Side dishes though are portioned too little. Price is okay for location.
Bonchons we’re good, and super amazing service! Food was ok.
I thought I could not get reasonably-priced and tasty Korean food in San Francisco but I found Doobu (sounds like the Korean word Dubu for tofu.) it is a tofu house with simple decor. The good thing is that there is no long wait, they serve multi-grain/brown rice, and the service is very warm. Tasty appetizers as well. I will come again.
I'm 35 years old, and so happy I can say this is hands down one of the best meals I've ever eaten in my whole life. I'm so happy I can still be blown away by food. The flavors just burst in your mouth. A must stop if you're in the area.
