as far as Italian restaurants in the US go, this is one of the best i’ve been to if you’re not looking for 100% nonna’s kitchen authenticity. the ingredients are extremely fresh, flavorful, and high-quality, and the dishes offer a California farmer’s market twist on classical Italian traditions.
very good food and first class service I recommend it
Yes. The answer is yes. The cooking is perfection. The flavors are so well balanced, fresh and present. Had a lovely meal and can’t wait to return again.
Converted auto body shop turned into one of the hottest ticket in town. Hip, airy, buzzing, urban vibe with great views over Divisadero.
Able to get seats right away at 6pm on Friday at the bar. Had to wait a bit for drinks and food but everything was good if not mind-blowing. Bartender wisely suggested half orders of pasta when we (2 of us) tried to order salad, 2 pastas AND pizza 🐷
Pizza thicker/more doughy and a lot smaller than Ragazza/Gialina. So maybe not the best value but overall fun (but pricey) experience.
Great date night. The staff are kind, professional and concerned. Best scampi ever and spinach lasagne is that good
Made a reservation for dinner on a Friday that Monday. Was going to chance a walk in upstairs at che fico but was told by hostess to keep our reservation downstairs. Boy were we glad we did. Food was amazing. Fig bruschetta, charcuterie mix, buccatini (hmmm....) and suckling pig for two. Wine could have use some improvement. But that food... 🤤🤤🤤 So glad we kept our visit. Looking forward to returning again.
Omg. Their strachiatella was soooooo DEvine. Eggplant parmesan was a perfect mix of marinara and breaded crunch. Wine was a bit lacking again this time. But all in all another great dining experience.
Ordered the tasty family meal last night for dinner and was very pleased they offered a vegetarian option. Generous portions that were enough food for dinner for 2 people, and lunch for one the next day. The house baked bread was deliciously fresh and soft. No leftovers for lunch as we inhaled it during dinner. And it was such a nice treat to eat a fresh salad- I’ve never missed lettuce so much... The vegetarian entree for 3/29/20 was a mushroom ragu with broccoli and mashed potatoes. For dessert there was a generous slice of a decadent dark chocolate cake with a buttercream chocolate frosting.
I fell in love with this place. I didn't expect how wonderful dinner could be despite the Covid-19! I decided to order Spaghetti Ragu alla Napoletana and Bucatini Cacio e Pepe for my boyfriend. The portions were huge and we could not finish it all. Tasty pasta and good wine. What could be better? We wanted to organize a small Italian dinner and Che Fico Alimentari didn't disappoint. Thanks.
