Very charming hole in the wall. Sandwiches are on sandwich bread which is different but also nostalgic at the same time. You can also get other bred like rolls and such! They are super friendly here and you just wait outside until you order is called! Close enough to Dolores park where you can pick up some sandwiches and walk over and eat them in the park on a nice day
Very good sandwich place. Ordered bulldog but bit salty for me. But overall great flavor. Will definitely come back next time for French dip sandwich. Reasonable price
Excellent sandwiches - fresh ingredients, beautifully balanced, flavorful!
If you're looking for a sandwich spot near Dolores Park, look no further. This is THE sandwich spot to go to. I've only had a few of their sandwiches, but each one I've had are some of the sandwiches I've ever eaten (which is why I'm writing a review). You can't go wrong with anything here, even their sides are delicious. Excellent food and very friendly service.
What a treasure - Extraordinary sandwiches that sooth the soul.
I've lived a block away for years and just yesterday walked by after several of my usual spots were closed. The daily special looked like an easy choice. Granted I was hungry, but there wasn't a scrap left by the time I crossed the street. Simply delicious! It was all the flavor of a 48 hour lasagna somehow packed into a sandwich. My plan was to go again tomorrow for a sanity check. So, here I am now typing the review after nearly crying from the follow-up order (The 'Charlie Sheen' special) it was a Godsend moment of flavor hitting the tongue and brain. I'm blown away. This is my first review to be so over-the-top impressed. Thank you Turner's Kitchen, whomever you are, bless you for going the extra mile because it's definitely noticed and appreciated by a neighborhood sadly lacking choices these days due to the obvious (shutdowns from Covid) :(
Love this sandwich shop! It's been a go to destination for years now and I'm thankful to live down the street from it. Ken took over the business a few years ago and it's been fun seeing the creative additions he's made to the menu that happen weekly now! It's always something new - I recommend following their Instagram page to keep up. He's also kept old favorites available from the Clare's Deli days (best french dip around!).
He clearly cares a lot about all aspects of the business - he uses top notch farmer's market ingredients and is always refining recipes, ensures all staff are tested for COVID routinely, and he's really plugged into the local neighborhood scene and is everyone's friend (including dog visitors who get bacon handouts). My favorite sandwiches are the BLGBT (a toasted sourdough brie BLT sandwich - ah!), the Cubano (the roasted pork has a coffee rub! It's something else), and the Buffalo Bill (buffalo chicken). There is always something interesting on the menu you won't find anywhere else. Their location is also great if you're headed to Dolores park, and the online ordering makes things easier than ever before.
Keep up the great work, Ken & co!
When I go to other cities, I use Turner’s Kitchen as the benchmark. I’ve been coming here for years as they never disappoint. There’s a daily special and menu changes every week. Insider tip: Follow them on IG for daily announcements.
