Food came out fast, hot, and good. There's a part of the menu that's affordable. The other side is pricy. Guessing it's as good if not better than the sandwiches. I'd recommend purely on service.
Flew in for the football game and was staying next door. Just missed closing the night before. Got in after the game, and they were hopping. I sat at the bar, which was open seating. Ulysses was my bartender and server. He "Rok'd" it! They are lucky to have him as he helped the kitchen and servers weather the hurricane that came through. They also ran out of baked potatoes, which i thought unusual for a steakhouse, and i would also recommend they at least steam the broccoli or cook it somehow. I liked the selections, and all was reasonable and tasty as I cooked the steak myself. They do offer to grill the steak to order for you, but they were slammed, so it wasn't an option this night, but no worries. I also wish they closed a little later as it's a nice and classy place in the area to even have a cocktail or two. In all, nice place to have dinner and/or drinks, reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, and staff pretty helpful. Go see Ulysses, though. He gave the place value by himself, and he'll stay on top of things.
I had the Wagyu New York. I asked for Pittsburgh Style, it wasn't quite right, but the flavor was way good. That Coconut Ginger Rice was delicious. I am usual Keto, but that rice was so good that I finished it unexpectedly.
Rok’s main dish are cuts of meat cooked on a 700 degree volcanic rock to your liking. You’re also able to have them cook it in their kitchen grill. Overall a pretty good treat yourself spot but like others said, there’s poor ventilation so your clothes will smell like smoke.
Went for the first time and was amazed at the quality of the food. Ordered NY Steak and Spicy Jambalaya, the food was cooked exactly per request and the ambiance was very good. Will visit soon again. Amazing food, amazing service!
We came for our friends birthday celebration! It was the frst time being at this restaurant. They took the Korean BBQ idea and made it personal for everyone's cooking enjoyment. So now the only person you can blame is yourself if the meat was over cooked on the lava stone. A fun idea and the food was good.
First time there and did not know about the "Rok". Waiter was very nice and showed me how to peoperly cook my bone in pork chop on the 700 degree stone. My meat was seared perfectly. I enjoyed searing each slice to my liking. I will definitely be back!
This was a great experience. My boys and I came to town for a 49ers game and were looking for a restaurant that wasn’t fast food with some better dining options. We decided to go in and see how Rok worked. It was a busy night where it was clear we should have had a reservation but we didn’t have one. The host said to hang out for a minute and he had us seated in less than 5 mins, truly great service! The servers was great and very on top of everything, and making sure we knew how it worked. They bring your steak out on a 750 degree rock and you cook the pieces you cut off yourself to your liking. My boys and I loved the food and experience! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
First visit and came for lunch - traveling from out of state for work. Service fantastic atmosphere pretty great. The meal I ordered, teriyaki bowl, was very salty, and the shrimp was over cooked.
My coworkers ordered jambalaya and the poke salad and both really enjoyed theirs.
The food is great. I really like the steak on the rock. They do smell really good. Our service is really great. He was really friendly and took good care of us.
