This is an authentic restaurant where you can truly enjoy Lebanese food. I ordered chicken shawarma, tabbole, manakeesh and (of course) Kenefe dessert. Everything tastes great and I can wait to go back. There are plenty of tables to dine in, and the owner is a nice person thanks
You can tell that the owners really care about their business and the ones that come to the place. They were very helpful and friendly. They place has enough indoor tables and stays very clean. Food was very good, my only complaint is that the salad had too much dressing. Come visit!
Growing up in an Arab household with amazing cooks has made my standards for Arabic food extremely high. This place delivered and rocked my world! The zaatar and cheese manakish was great and the show stoppers were their sweets which were divine. Don't walk but run to this place and try it all. The owner/workers were all also so kind and the place was spotless!
Great eating experience, wow! Love the selection of desserts and the people working the counter are always super friendly. They even have WiFi so I settled in and took some work calls. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, and just ask the front desk for recs - they know what they're talking about (and don't worry, they do not just recommend the most expensive item). One comment, not a huge fan of the lunch platters. Prefer the breads and baked goods. If you're looking for an amazing kebab, this might not be your spot but other food is heat.
Glad to see this establishment reopen. Staff was amicable and quick service. Beef shawarma wrap was fantastic, good seasoning and sauces to complement it all. Ambiance is nice with good amount of seating.
I’ve heard so much about this place and this is my first time eating there. They had very nice service with smile on the workers face. As well as fast service. The food was delicious and beyond expectations. I ordered Lahmajun, shawerma chicken and beef and both was very good. I would easily go back their to grab a bite 😋 highly recommended
It is the first time I have visited this place. From what I could see, it is operated by amiable owners. The food is prepared as soon as you order it, and the portions are generous, so it's just what you're paying for what you get. You can feel (and taste) the freshness of the food and the fact that it's made as soon as you order it (which can be a bit of an inconvenience if you're in a rush).
I ordered Lamb Kabob Wrap (Lamb kabob pieces with hummus spread, tomatoes, and our special onion and sumac mix) and pistachio Filled Mafrouke Ball for dessert.
The lamb was tender, flavorful, and cooked to the perfect point and the dessert... wow, I have never had something like that (not too sweet, different textures, flavors), and I'm still thinking about it
Highly recommend:
- Chicken kebab lunch platter with rice and a side of house salad and garlic dip. Portion is so generous and the flavors are so delicious together. I love how bold the flavor of the sides were. The house salad has a really tangy dressing that I loved. Garlic dip is OUT OF THIS WORLD. My mouth felt like it was in a sumo wrestling match with a garlic bulb and it was sensational.
- Fries are strangely so freaking good. I had to stop myself from eating them all in the car. They're like crack. It's the softer kind like you get at McDonalds and they're seasoned perfectly.
Wasn’t particularly a fan of:
- Chicken shawarma wrap: definitely needed a sauce. It was good with the garlic dip from the king platter but needed something to go with it. I wasn't a big fan of the veggies in the wrap; think it would have tasted nicer with fresh veggies.
- Mafroukeh was the dessert I chose just to try something different as I typically get baklava. Wasn't a fan of the texture or nutty flavor but I can see how it satisfies a certain palate. It looked so beautiful and I'm sure a lot of time went into making it.
Staff is so friendly. Parking is not terrible, lots of metered spots around the blocks.
Beautiful and authentic middle eastern “sweet cheese” pastries Staff were welcoming and informative regarding foods that we wanted to try. If you want something out of the American ordinary, I highly suggest. I tried the Knafeh, perfectly savory and sweet.
Located in downtown San José not too far from the San Pedro market is Cafe Eden. I ordered ahead for pick up and got 1 lunch platter with chicken kabob, rice, hummus and tabouli. The chicken was flavorful and juicy which can be tricky with chicken breast. The hummus was smooth and delicious and a nice pairing with the dish. The tabouli was authentic and true to it Mediterranean roots...loved it! The rice was a bit dry but when eating with the tabouli and hummus as sides, it was ok. For dessert, I was super bummed that they ran out of knafe because I haven't had it in a while and can't seem to find a place which makes it authentic and good. From the pictures, it looked delicious. So I got pistachio baklava instead. It was fresh and perfect! In addition to the items I could get for free, I also got zatar bread. The zatar bread was so good! The bread was perfect thickness and the zatar was fresh and packed with flavor! All in all it was good and I'll need to try knafe one day from here.
