On a rainy day, my friend and I stumbled upon Thai Food Express, in San Rafael, in search of something warm to eat. Upon perusing the menu, the waiter highly recommended a specific soup with orange broth, claiming that it can only be found at this restaurant. We ordered two to share (one chicken flavor and the other duck). Alongside the soup, we had two coconut Thai teas, which were absolutely spectacular with their dark orange color and delightful taste. I couldn't resist trying a pink drink with Boba to go, which was sweet and delicious, and the vibrant pink color was a nice touch.
The only suggestion we had was to add more broth to the soups. The atmosphere in the restaurant was beautiful, with tasteful decor, cleanliness, and a spacious layout. We enjoyed our seats by the glass window, providing a pleasant view of the street.
The food is always fresh. Fresh food should be a given, but there is a delicious difference when eat here. I appreciate they kept the old mural and decor of Bangkok Thai Express. If you want to enjoy a great meal in a familiar setting, you must check out Thai Food Express.
Ok, the veggie fresh rolls were seriously unbelievably GOOD. Never have I ever...
The See-Ew was cooked with perfection. And simple eggplant, tofu and veggies just don't get better. Go here.
Of the Thai places in San Rafael, this one is the best by far! Amazing Pad Thai, even with my dietary restriction changes, which they happily and easily made. Ordering again tonight.
Chai gave excellent friendly service. The food is delicious. We had samosas. Chicken and Beef fried rice and Basil Lamb. The Jasmine tea is refreshing as well
The food was a vibrant new flavor of thai that I have never experienced before. A simple touch of the food on my tongue along with the combination of the thailand imagery gave me the illusion as if I was there. The service was excellent in giving me everything that I try asked for with little to no delay. This experience was one which changed my entire life. 🙏
10/10 would recommend !!
it was my first time trying Thai food and it was great the service was great and the resturant inside was calm and beautiful. Had the Golden bags, pad Thai, and baked pineapple rice. Everything was great but I definitely liked the rice and the banana desert too, would come again for sure 😄Thai iced coffee was good too :)
Papaya salad beyond spicy and does not note it on description. Not options to customize spicy as most places do on grub hub. Naps Thai average with perfectly cooked noodles but lots of onions and fish sauce. Average pad thai. Service is very kind but grub hub orders take a while to come in. Super cute place for a date with average food. Nice staff.

I got the vibe that this place is driven by integrity, and really caring about the food they produce. I've eaten at a lot of Thai places in my life, and the "Drunken Noodles" were some of the best Thai noodles I've had before. According to the waiter, the restaurant also offers a few dishes that most Thai places don't have on the menu, because the ingredients are hard to find, or they aren't well-known dishes. Thus, it's safe to say you will have a more authentically Thai experience than most other Thai restaurants. Overall incredible experience, highly recommend.
I usually get my staple of beef salad, sticky rice and coconut soup, which is soooooo good. But my Sister was visiting and I decided to explore the menu more. Every dish was a mouthful of surprise. It was so fabulous, i’ve had to return every day. Lots of vegan and gluten free options! Love love love love love this place!
