Fantastic Mexican. Delicious tacos al pastor and agua fresca (horchata)
Not the best, but not bad.. Not the best Mexican food you can find in the bay area but it's maybe in the 70th percentile. It's the kind of place where you're not looking forward to it all week but you do say "yeah, we could eat there" and it works out OK for everyone. Good margaritas if you want it to be that kind of lunch.
When they serve your tacos with radishes, you know it’s legit. Also, best molcajetes in town! And the hot salsa they give you with your chips will cleanse your colon, but it’s sooooo worth it.
First time we have ever been here and the food was delicious. Came back the next night and tried something different and it was just as good. Prices were good and service was excellent. Plenty of food and we did not leave hungry. We will definitely be back.
Always been a staple piece for my dad, the place itself is good and very well known in Marin. I tried their birria tacos and the consomé but sadly it just looked like beef and cheese in a tortilla with a side of sopa. I don’t know if it was made overnight with love but wish it would’ve been better. The employees are nice tho
It was good food with friendly service. The place was a little run down and not the cleanest. It seemed authentic because it was like I was eating at a dive in Mexico. I'll go back anyway.
This spot was recommended.... I agree. Good food, good margarita. Enchilada and chile relleno with standard sides (beans and rice) were excellent. I cleaned the whole plate... Resisted the urge to lick the plate. The wings were good but hardly had any sauce on them. Only 3 of 8 wings had sauce and were not even completely coated. Very dry... This is what lost them the 5th star. It was not busy when I was there. Habanero salsa already on the table is a good sign.
Best place in San Rafael hands down. Foods great, spots great, know the owners personally. Good people.
If you are looking for REAL Mexican food, this is the place. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Tacos are my favorite here. Family friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Right off the freeway, and pretty easy access down a frontage road. Discovered it at random, seeing the the sign from Highway 101. I had the regular chicken burrito and it was delicious. The three salsas they give with the tasty chips also tasty (the green my favorite). Festive atmosphere and music, friendly service. Give it a try if you are in San Rafael or travelling on 101.
