What can I say? This place is fantastic. Friendly helpful staff. They can tease you back when you tease them. Consistent with its sister BBQ joints. Loved the Free Kittens rice ale. Loved the salad with brisket. We will be back. Next time I'm trying the BBQ chicken and my husband is just ordering a little if everything (slaughter plate) so he doesn't have to make a decision. He was happy with his brisket sandwich. This BBQ joint made a us stop arguing and enjoy each other. BBQ that stops fights ...What a concept!
Loved the food, especially the hot links, best I ever had. And the band the Magpies were awesome. I'm a pretty harsh critic on ribs, but these were delicious and moist.
Food was just okay. A great spot for a casual quick bite. The potato salad is smokey, tastes like there's BBQ sauce in it, which I thought was interesting and good. The pork ribs were a little on the small side, pretty standard flavor along with the corn bread. We also got the gaucho sandwich with the in house chimichurri sauce which is extremely oregano heavy, perhaps a tad too much oregano but that's just me 😬. Other than that everything was great, customer service was awesome.
Orders combo 4 meats, got plenty of foods n sauce is delicous - the ribs meat not smoked long enough still have a meat attach to the bone.
For my first time here I had to try the trip tip and ribs , absolutely amazing and tender , tri tip was the better choice. I loved the rub on the ribs , and I know this is going to sound funny but the ribs were too tender , I was able to bite (easily) through the bone and it was Abit annoying taking bone fragments out my mouth but overall I will be back!
I really enjoyed the Bbq here at mission street. I ordered the pork ribs, tri -tip and my wife had the tri tip sandwich. They let the meat be the star and didn’t try to make up for lack of flavor like most places do by dousing the bbq in sauce. As a matter of fact, I almost forgot to add bbq sauce because the seasoning/ smoke profile was pretty good on their meat already .This place will definitely be a stop for us again on our next visit to Santa Cruz.
5 of us went for lunch last Monday. I have to say I was quite pleased. 1st off there was a roomy and friendly atmosphere. The roar of the crowd was less than most restaurants and I enjoyed that. Service was great. Food was FANTASTIC. The only bad take away (no pun intended) is the lack of French fries to go absolutley delicious BBQ meal. Really like the place. Really love the brisket. Best in the county if you ask me.
Excellent food!!! Clean restaurant friendly staff , the food was 100% on point . Delicious!!!!!
