Love love LOVE this place - every time we visit Santa Cruz we make it a point to come here, never disappoints!
We love this charming place. Excellent food and service. Lots of incredible fresh produce and an excellent gluten free selection baked on site.
This place is hiding in plain sight....probably driven past a million times and never noticed there's a windmill in Santa Cruz with a cafe in it. Food is dine out only at the moment (on a very nice patio with sun or shade, take your pick). I had the grilled goat cheese and smoked salmon sandwich on sourdough. Grab an extra napkin 'cause it's kinda sloppy, but this sandwich was DELICIOUS! Plenty of lox and oozing with goat cheese. My companion had the bagel and lox, which was super-loaded with even more lox than the sandwich. Sorry to say, my house coffee was meh (I take milk in my coffee, so you know I'm not a purist...but I do want the coffee to taste like something!) Overall a good experience and a nice spot for a casual bite to eat.
I love the cute outdoor seating of this place and it’s such a nice atmosphere to hang out in! I really appreciate the gluten free options but I personally think they could use more flavor, the muffins for example. And the coffee really needs help! It’s pretty bad. But besides that, the lunch is tasty and the service is good.
It was a good portion, but you can only sit outside, right next to the road, so it's very loud.
Wow! Windmill Cafe is amazing. The owner is also the chef. The food is delicious and well priced. Sandwiches, asian noodle dishes, egg plates, Bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel, soups of the day, French toast, breakfast burrito, TAB. Also espresso drinks and smoothies. It has such a cozy feel. Two blocks from the beach and next
Beautiful garden, currently only outdoor seating. Veggie croissant and French toast was delicious! Walk to the beach after with your coffee.
Adorable little place with good latte's and ready-to-go bakery. Dog friendly, which was wonderful for my Boxer. Eight or nine tables outside for seating, so get there early. We arrived around 11:30 and only had to wait for about 10". Wonderful staff, too.
