Fun spot. The Asti has always been here in Santa Cruz at least in my life time, it used to be known as the Nasti but it is NOT that today. Today they have great people behind the bar, fun crowd of people, 3 pool tables, my wife and I come here just about twice a week to play pool and chill.
Fun goofy af bartenders. Enjoyed the party vibe but not so much the old, dated rap music blasting away like it's the 90s. Look around, you're a white community Santa Cruz, you're not Detroit. Heard of EDM or rock? Or even better indie rap. Heard of Tech N9ne? In fact I'd rather listen to the island boys than Gen X rap

Update: we came back with friends who frequent and it was a much better experience. I think the bartender was going through it that other night. Very chill dive bar, lots of seating with 3 pool tables (coin machine if you have cash). Fresh beers and has a jukebox that can be used over an app. Bathrooms aren’t too bad either, there is a female bathroom which was nice because the guys one looked a little rough.

Friendly bartenders and I like how dark it is in there. Cool vibe. The music is a bit overwhelming on the TouchTunes machine...maybe lower the volume a bit.
Don’t hang out at bars much anymore but I enjoyed a nice beer on tap and chatted with my ol’ friends from the way back years 🚲
Going to the Asti is a great way to spend quality time with your partner. My husband and I love the atmosphere and service. We play a couple of rounds of pool every time we go.
