The steak and salad were both incredibly delicious, exceeding our expectations. The service was also very comfortable and accommodating.
Although the wait time was a bit long, it was totally worth it. This is one of the best restaurants we've been to during our trip in California.
The nigiri sushi rolls were great, and the pineapple marinade on the ribeye was excellent. The grilled artichokes were a unique starter and the brownie for dessert was delicious also. Service was really good and efficient except towards the end of the meal when we wanted to order dessert.
Wow!! Best dinner I've enjoyed in LA so far! I highly recommend this restaurant! The atmosphere and service is just as wonderful as the food!! I had the French Dip Au Jus with fries. Also the coconut shrimp.. wow! So good. Just go there! Make a reservation!

I've been to hillstone many times and I always appreciate their outstanding service. It's so rare to find these days and wonderful to get. Food is just as good. Nice selections of wines. Recommend the trout and veggie burger.

Hillstone Santa Monica is one of the most consistent dining establishments in the city.
I strongly recommend skipping appetizers and going for the nigiri plate - salmon, tuna, hiramasa (2 pieces of each) will delight you. You could also go all salmon; we’ve done that before successfully!
My dining partner - a fellow doctor through the LA Center for Hearing and Balance - usually gets the California burger, but I almost always get the Hawaiian Ribeye, medium-rare and topped with some delicious butter. We both sub out fries for their broccoli, which is always well cooked and served with a touch of Parmesan-esque cheese.
My favorite drink here is the Hillstone Negroni: served traditional but with a touch of lime as well as orange. So delicious and accommodates the meal perfectly!
Definitely give this place a try, it provides a solid experience every time.
This is an incredible restaurant. One of our favorite restaurants is Rutherford Grill in Napa Valley and THIS company owns it! We had no idea. We can't wait to go back. The ribs were amazing!!! Fall of the bone!

The Good: Excellent service proper for real, the servers are hella cute, hey ladies, you always smiling I love it I am happy to tip you. attentive.The food is at par tho, for the price is a good bang for the buck is higher end american modern cuisine and classics executed with care and they have a solid grill. Very comforting, Try the french sandwich or the grilled trout what a beauty.Just what you should expect and be happy to pay this is worth it.
The Bad: I do not see any bads to be frank with you, I once got the salmon salad and it came raw, the manage came right away and made me a new salmon salad, hey bro big respect man! also they made me custom sushi cause I asked.
Will I come back: Yes this is my hood choice, very well run establishment!
Wow what a wonderful dining experience. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had the ribs and French dip and they were some of the best best we’ve ever had. Also had the ice cream sundae that was out of this world. The best part of the entire meal, however, was the excellent service by Brandy. Above and beyond service on a night that we ate here for me and my wife’s anniversary dinner. 10/10 on everything
Pleasantly surprised by how nice the ambiance, food, & service were! Alexis did an amazing job, brought us a spicy mayo for our fries and chicken sandwich without us asking. Her service was superb & it’s not often you get that genuine type of warm and hospitable energy from a server. The sandwich itself was delicious! It’s huge, big enough to split between two or take leftovers if you want. It’s crispy, not too heavy & the cilantro in the slaw adds a nice complexity to the overall taste. I don’t usually like tomatoes, but it fit well with the sandwich. The spicy mayo she brought on the side had sesame oil in it— which I’ve never had in a spicy mayo— and it complimented it soooo well!! The ambiance was nice, busy and formal, yet casual
enough were you could walk in for an impromptu lunch ( as long as you dress properly). I would highly recommend Alexis as your server for a wonderful experience.
