One of the best dining experiences we’ve had in LA area. The food and wine were amazing while not overpriced. Also have never had better service, the staff went above and beyond and were so friendly.

Delicious food and wonderful service. The dessert chocolate ball has vanilla ice cream and strawberries covered with a hard chocolate shell that they drizzle warm caramel on ... it is absolutely delicious! It's a cozy restaurant inside while the outside is inviting with beautiful lights strung up, the soothing sound of a waterfall, and warm heat lamps to keep you cozy! I highly recommend Orto!
Delicious food and great service. Feels like an authentic Italian experience. May be pricey but I felt it was worth it for the attentive service and quality of food. Small cozy feel like in Italy.

Orto is a fabulous little Italian spot right in Santa Monica. We started with the calamari, shrimp and vegetables -- lightly battered and fried. I asked our server for the best dish on the menu and was not disappointed when Trofie al pesto arrived. It is house made pasta with potatoes and string beans in a pesto sauce -- absolutely delicious. The only thing better was the filet al pep -- tender filet with a light cream and pepper sauce. Tender and super flavorful -- done to perfection. Desserts were also great, with the best being this chocolate dome over which hot caramel was poured. The only disappointment was the beer selection, which totaled two, one of which ran out during the evening.
