While visiting some friends we decided to try out this restaurant. It seems to be a popular place to eat as there is always a line waiting to be seated. Once seated we were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our order. When the food came out everything was perfect. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal. This is a great place to visit and enjoy a wonderful home cooked meal.
Great Southern Cafe was a great place for lunch, but we had some issues while we were there. One of our friends never got her food, so after waiting for what felt like forever, she just told them to cancel her order. As for my meal, I had a bowl of Gumbo and the Seafood Tower. I would highly recommend the Seafood Tower and a peach mojito.
Perfect location with a menu for just about anybody. Fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. Drinks were amazing and the atmosphere couldn’t have been better. Right in the middle of seaside with plenty of outdoor space, bars to enjoy the games and seating for families.
Excellent food and wonderful attentive service.
The Calamari appetizer was good. The Seafood Gumbo is good, the Shrimp n Grits were well liked, and the Black n Blue salad was excellent.

We have visited here three times, and each time has been a great experience. This last time we were served by a waiter named Chase who absolutely made our experience even better than the others. He was knowledgeable about the menu and he was so good with our toddler. He made the night stress free and he absolutely will bring us back. Thank you chase for a great night!
Amazing food and service. Shannon was our server and she was absolutely the best. Food was hot, delicious and amazing. Shrimp Ay ya ya, the Carson chicken sandwich & salmon. Love, love, ❤️
Tara was amazing with a friendly attitude and anticipated our needs. The food was perfectly prepared and in the right portions to provide value without overeating. The smoked Gouda grits are mandatory. The hush puppies are uniquely done and delicious.

A perfect place to eat after doing a little shopping in Seaside! The pineapple mojito might just be my new favorite drink. The food was all so fresh and delicious! Our waitress was professional and on top of it, too!! We were staying in Miramar Beach, but our friends highly recommended The Great Southern so we made the 15 minute drive and we are so glad that we did!! Will definitely be on the list to come back next time we are in town!
Chad was an awesome waiter. The dinner was amazing. The best smoked Gouda grits on the planet.
