Wait staff was friendly. Environment is very casual as the name implies. Drinks are served in go-to cups and napkins are high-end, thick, paper napkins. Food portions are average. I had the Shrimp and Cheese Grits and Side Salad and the flavor was good. Nice place to go and hang out with friends. Pretty pricey for lunch.
Friendly staff, no wait, attentive sever, and GREAT food was what we got here at Local Catch. We came here as a last resort after The Red Bar had too long of a wait and was too loud. We only expected mediocre food, so we were pleasantly surprised. The fish tacos are a must try. Tgis restaurant has been in Southern Living Magazine. We will be back to try more food.
Food has the perfect Cajun flare. Great seafood dishes whether you get the fish tacos with fresh sautéd grouper or the classic bow shrimp and grits. It is definitely an ole bar feel and service was ok but the food was delicious and speaks for itself!
Game days wings are $0.75 each, so we got some. Half sweet and spicy half Buffalo. They were pretty good wings.
Wife had the grilled fish tacos. I went with the Caribbean Shrimp Tacos. Both were pretty good. The tacos are pretty big, I wish they'd cut back the slaw and give you more meat, but that's how it goes.
My pops dined on the seafood sampler and he enjoyed it. Moms got the pecan crusted grouper and I ate her left overs. It was good.
One of my kids dropped her cheeseburger on the floor and they brought her another. I guess a crying 4 year old will score you things sometimes.
Atmosphere on a game day is loud and noisy. Perfect for my twin 4YO.

Excellent overall experience! My family and I come here each year on our beach trip. This year we arrived and the lot was packed, we were concerned about the wait with a party of six. The hostess told us it would be about 30 minutes, so we decided to stay. It actually only ended up being 6 or 7 minutes! The food was excellent and our waitress, Prophecy, was wonderful and quite engaging. We will definitely be returning again next year. Would recommend!
Wonderful! What a find! We were craving fresh, local seafood and this was the place. The place was packed but managed to snag a table fast because we were a table for three. Service was fast, and very friendly-there is something about genuine friendliness from servers and wait staff-nice to see for a change. The food was darn good- grilled fish/shrimp and grits tacos...the plates were clean. One of the best things was the price...great food, cool location, great value. Also, the bathroom was very clean as well-what a concept and a nice surprise for such a busy place. If your in the area...try it!
Awesome casual atmosphere with great service! If you're looking for a great place away from the beach front crowds this is your spot.
Absolutely charming and delicious! It smelled so good when we walked in, and we seated ourselves. My husband had the shrimp po-boy (minus the jalapeños), and I had the crab cake from the appetizer menu. The crab cake was the best I've eaten with a light wine-butter sauce and a spicy pepper jelly. I would highly recommend this place. The service was quick and smart too.
Hidden gem of Santa Rosa Beach. Food and service excellent. I had chips (house made) and pico which were great....and fish tacos. Outstanding. Service could not have been better. I watched NBA games here a couple of times as I got into town for vacation on a Sunday and both times had great service and food. One of my faves in South Walton.

This area has been one of our frequent vacation spots due to the white sands, wide beaches and lack of commercial development - it's also frequented less than Panama City and other larger city centers and we enjoy a bit of solitude. There are several restaurants along the County Hwy 30A corridor and Local Catch is one of the better, in my opinion. We visited in late September 2014 which is a perfect time at the beach - clear weather, still in the 80's during the day so the beach isn't too hot, calm surf and few people. The bar dominates the main room and I can see this as a great hangout for locals (there are a few flat-panels so you can drink, munch and watch your favorite team). The exterior seating was empty the night we went but this was in late September so not prime-time for tourists. Noise levels were high so if that's not your bag you may want to try visiting earlier in the day when it's less busy. Mid week with 8 in the party we were seated pretty much immediately and given menus. Our waiter was in a word, fantastic, making great recommendations based on a superior understanding of both the food and drink Local Catch offers.
It kinda looks like a hole in the wall but those usually are the best!!! It's not as noticeable as other restaurants but it was so good!!! I had the Caribbean shrimp and sweet potato fries, which was delicious!!! We will be going back on our next trip to Santa Rosa Beach!!!
Fried shrimp were legit, along with the blackened fish tacos. The collards were quite tasty as well, but the slaw is a little bland. Their cocktail sauce is a little sweet, but they have standard cocktail sauce if you ask for it. Will definitely be back.
What a great experience!! Sat on the patio and the weather was beautiful. Had a slight salt air breeze which created a great calm atmosphere. Everything about the food was great. The entrees were well prepared and the sides tied in perfectly. We got the southern fish and chips and the fish tacos and both were perfectly cooked. Get the collards and the smoked cheddar grits as sides!!
Tried the southern fish and chips and the fish which they said was gulf fish seemed to be Mahi Mahi which was great but not a fan of the battered like fries. Green beans were OK nothing special. The gumbo was really good
Very lively atmosphere. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food is good.
Very surprised by this place! We just drove by and decided to try it out. The food was delicious- crab cakes, grouper, and ahi tuna nachos especially. But the service is what really made this experience! Kristin was our waitress and she went above and beyond, but the whole staff was very attentive and helpful.
The food overall is pretty good, I tried the the chicken sandwich and it was a little dry, but at least it was seasoned. The fries had a unique taste, too. The tacos come with huge portions like it could be in a bowl. There is a good amount of outdoor seating. Our waiter was nice and attentive too.

I return to this spot year after year just to have their steak tacos. They are the best I have ever had. I have even tried to bribe servers into fanagling me the recipe for the meat with no help. Always great service, and the food is always consistent and delicious! Thanks Local Catch!
