Great spot on 30a in the Grayton Beach area. Nice Italian cuisine, neat screened in porch, and Chocolate Creme Brûlée. Everybody needs their own. Too good to share.
We stumbled on this great place while house hunting. The atmosphere is upscale but laid back - the perfect date night! Friendly and attentive service that wasn't at all rushed. We had perfectly-mixed cocktails, lovely salads and we both enjoyed delectable entrées - I had the filet - the best I've ever eaten - and my husband really enjoyed the seafood fricassee. We allowed the server to talk us into the dark chocolate creme brûlée and didn't regret it at all. The meal was a little pricier than we usually spend for date night, but completely worth every penny. We'll definitely be back!
My wife and I left the kids at the condo and went out for a date night. Not knowing the area, we relied on reviews and chose to try Borago. We were not disappointed. We got there about 15 minutes before our reservation as we wanted to grab a drink at the bar. The servers were extremely friendly and gave us some great cocktail recommendations. My wife had a martini with a lemon boat of grapefruit chello. It was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for a quiet dinner. The food was absolutely wonderful. The salads were fresh and the entrees were excellent. I had the scallops/shrimp fricassee. I would highly recommend it. All and all, a great experience.

disclaimer, they have become stingy on the bread served before the first course. They offer one tiny basket of bread, picture a basket about 6-7 inches long, with 6 tiny pieces of bread. The pieces of bread are about 2x3 inches in size and you get about 6 pieces in the basket. We were a party of six, 4 adults and two older teenagers. They charge 5.00 for another tiny basket of bread. The first basket is 'on them'. We are not families on a budget so its not the 5.00. It's just out of proportion and comes across a little awkward and tacky.
We have always had a great experience wait staff over the years, some have been there for years. This year, there was young lady that served us. She would just disappear. She finally appeared from the bar area flushed and acting hyper. She gave us no eye contact after returning to our table, but started to grin uncontrollably??? We were only paying attention to her, and her wear abouts because none of us were offered a second drink. The restaurant was about at half capacity at the time.
Wow! Another Grayton Beach winner, hidden right on 30a. We dined on the screened in porch and enjoyed a great meal. Our server was very friendly as well as knowledgable about the menu and the local brewery. We enjoyed an excellent meal, chicken piccata, angel hair pasta w/ pan seared shrimp, and a spicy Italian sausage dish that was just right. I'd agree with a previous reviewer that one might skip the Caesar salad, it's ok, but there are better choices on the menu, perhaps instead get an antipasto dish or two for the table. Save room for the dark chocolate creme brûlée, you'll be tempted to share it, don't!
Sooo good! Wonderful recommendations from our server for wine and food. The Bolognese tortolloni is amazing. We will certainly visit as often as possible.
Great Italian on the Gulf Coast. Borago, located in Grayton Beach on 30-A, has wonderful food... My wife and I actually prefer it over Christiano's (which also great), even though Borago's prices are a bit higher. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu as well.
I ordered a creamy plate of cheesy polenta topped with fresh shrimp, scallops, and crab meat. My wife ordered Angel Hair with olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes, with a side of their veal meatballs. Both dishes were top-notch and executed perfectly.
Borago is a definite dining spot for us, from here on out. Well done.
Great Meal. My wife and I had dinner here a few weeks back. Great experience - from the service to the meal we were very pleased with everything. These folks are doing a great job. Can't wait to go back.
Fantastic restaurant! Wonderful entrees and very good service. Had the arroncini and penne with sausage. Delicious! Also cocktails were excellent; order a negroni, you won't be disappointed. Will definitely be back.
Good food. Consistently great food and bar. I wish they would update the dining room but I guess they don't need to since it is always packed. everything is good.
Why haven't we been here sooner?!? We don't know the answer to that, but we know we will be back soon and often as locals. We we very impressed with the menu, the quality of the food, specialty drinks and the service. The only negative we found was that the noise level was loud. We would love to bring our elderly mothers, but know the heightened noise would not be to their liking. Otherwise, it was a perfect dinner, and we will he back soon.
Borago has become one of our favorite restaurants in 30A! The service has been great each time and the food is absolutely incredible! We love the veal meatball appetizer as well as the calamari. Every pasta dish we have tried has been delicious, my personal favorite is the Chicken Linguine and my husband’s favorite is the Angel Hair with Pan Seared Shrimp. And of course the Dark Chocolate Crème Brûlée for dessert as well as the seasonal Berry Crisp! If you are looking for a truly delicious meal then this is the place to go! Be sure to make reservations.
The meal that I had at Borago was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Our waiter made sure that our food came out on time, and our drinks were never empty. The calamari was delicate and delicious. The Caesar salad is phenomenal. And our pasta dishes were unparalleled. My dish had chicken, corn, and caramelized onions, which seemed like an odd combination, but I’m still dreaming about it now! My espresso martini ended the evening perfectly. The tiramisu we took to go was perfect.
Loved the food and our server Jess was so sweet and friendly. We had the arrancini which was really good. Their marinara is fabulous (like my moms!) I had the Angel hair shrimp with prosciutto and it was SO delicious. It was creamy and the flavor was mouthwatering. My husband had the tortellini bolognese and really enjoyed it. The wine selection was also quite good. We did not like the tiramisu though. Tasted too much like alcohol. But we will definitely eat here again.
Best Italian dinner on 30A. Italian food is the culinary language of passion and love, and nowhere does it better than Borago. Their fresh ingredients and rich flavors provide the savory experience you keep coming back for.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I am glad I finally did. The atmosphere although close to family dining is separated but close giving it a warm and inviting presence. Our waitress was phenomenal and made our experience 5 ⭐️. Our dishes were perfect, each having its on distinct flavor palette. The drink menu is limited but there is something for everyone. The wine menu is vast and has a large selection of glass and bottle options. My favorite two desserts were on the menu so we got both and were not disappointed..I have never tried Chocolate Crème Brûlée but it was absolutely tantalizing, the Tiramisu was made to perfection. If you are in the area, I recommend making a reservation, and enjoying an evening at Borago!
This is on our must do list when in the Grayton Beach area. Had a lovely meal with great service last night. My husband had the seafood pasta dish with shrimp and scallops. He said it was delicious as was my chicken pasta dish. This is the fourth time we have been here and quality of food and service and value is consistent every time.
I am giving them four stars because of price. It was overpriced. The chicken linguine was decent. We enjoyed the mushroom ravioli, arugula salad and the shrimp with pasta. The eggplant lasagna was different, with a lot of vegetables—it wasn’t my favorite eggplant. The tiramisu was to die for. Overall, good experience and good food, but overpriced.
Excellent food and service. I had the penne with spicy Italian sausage and my wife had the grouper special. Both were fantastic. Great atmosphere and and a solid wine list. Highly recommend.
