The shop was very relaxing with a seaside feel to it. The walls was painted a light mint green color with many art pieces hanging on the wall. I actually loved the feel of this place.
Best chocolate cake & macha latte. The chocolate cake was moist, rich in chocolate flavor. The poached pear and cake goes very well together...and having a macha latte with it tops the experience! The restaurant space is small but is simple, clean and classy.
Best Flourless Chocolate Cake!. Loved the Raspberry Chocolate Torta Caprese so much that I had to buy another piece for the road!
A bakery to shame the French. The green tea tiramisu and brioche were so utterly well executed, balanced, and most of all DELICIOUS. Anyone that has been to a bakery in Japan will be well aquainted.
Don't go here looking for the standard french fare, however. They do have croissants, but only on weekends.
Great matcha green tea lattes! The best I've had

Best cake in seattle. I love the gateau basque was fantastic and the green tea tiramisu is the best in US. the gateau basque is soft in the inside-sponge cake and custard-yummm. and topped with an almond crust.! the green tea tiramisu has the perfect texture of custard and the sponge cake is super moist. which blends well with the custard.
it is indeed pricey for a cake yet who cares if it is good haha
We went to Zoka for coffee and breakfast-and I just happened to urbanspoon the area while we were there. I came across Hiroki and decided we need a little breakfast dessert-walked down the street and got an orange roll. It was incredible!! I would skip Zoka any day to come here!
I heart Hiroki. What an amazing place! I've been there numerous times over the years, and have really loved every experience- standouts: dulce de leche cake, crinkle cookies, pineapple upside down cake - really, truly superior baking going on here!
Hands down a not-to-miss bakery!! Seattles very best by FAR! Go at 9:30 on a Saturday or Sunday morning for just out of the oven treats that will not disappoint! We have been going weekly for over 6 years. :)
I got a whole cake for green tea tiramisu for my friend’s b-day. Everyone, including the birthday girl, really loved the cake! It was so good! People were asking where I got the cake 😁 I also added a message biscuit, which was $3.
*You need to call the bakery to order a whole cake. (according to their website, they need at least 4 days’ notice.)
Okay - I love this place!!
I went by at 4 pm on a Sunday afternoon. It was quiet and no one else was there - and their offerings were limited - just a few of different options available.
I tried their Soufflé cheesecake - it was amazing!! 😋🤩 This is my first time trying it and I’m a convert! It was delicious!! I am not a fan of the traditional cheesecakes as they’re too sweet for my taste. However these were perfect!! Just the right balance of sweet and smooth without being cloying or heavy!! Anyway, my point being - try their soufflé cheesecake - it is really yummy!
I also tried the iced Hojicha Latte with Oat milk - again, I was blown away - I really loved the beverage! It was cool and soothing on a hot day and paired really well with the cheesecake!
Be sure to place an order because the cakes sell out fast. This Japanese style cakes are delicate, fluffy and not too sweet. Will be back again to try other flavors. Also, they have reserved parking for Hiroki.
Great Japanese Bakery. It is next door to my physical therapist. So dangerous…..
I tried probably half of cake selections that they offer so far. My favorites are chestnuts cake, Almond cake and basque cake. I am not a cheese cake person, so I can’t speak about it much.
There are some indoor and outdoor seating. They also offer drinks like coffee and teas. Dedicated parking space available.
Oh my gosh the cakes are heavenly! I ordered three different cake slices and each one was so good. I had three servings of coffee in one day to have an excuse to eat the cakes (I like my coffee with cake 😁).
The cakes are beautiful to look at and scrumptious to eat. They make perfect gifts for friends and family (order four different slices and tie on a nice ribbon over the white carrying box = perfect gift), and awesome treat to yourself after a 4 mile walk around Greenlake 😉
Ample parking available if you decide to skip the exercise and head straight to rewarding yourself. Seating indoors is currently unavailable but you might get luck and be able to snag one of the two bistro tables set up outside.
Highly recommended!
Family owned Japanese cafe. Cheesecakes are good. Flavors are good but slices were a bit too soft when you take them out of the plastic holder and can fall easily when slicing.
The Tiramisu I tried has a little too much sponge cake to my liking, I don't particularly care that much about lady finger vs cake but perhaps this is how tiramisu is generally made in Japan. Tastes good though.
I buy my cakes from here for special occasions and they are always perfect! Their tiramisu is amazing (and I’ve tried a LOT of tiramisus!) Recently I ordered a cake for a baby shower. Everybody loved it. It’s on the pricier side for cakes I would say but worth it. I ordered the day before and they had it ready to go the next morning without issue. It seems that a lot of bakeries in Seattle need weeks notice which is crazy. What I love about Asian bakeries in general is that it’s never too sweet and much lighter than other cakes. I love this spot and can’t say enough good things about it!
We have no words for these master desserts!! Recommended by the lovely gentleman at the counter, we selected the Mango Honey, and Matcha cheesecakes. WOW!! Lite and airy and sooo lovely on the palate. We just moved into the neighborhood, and this will be a regular spot for us. Thank you Guys!
My first time there. The store and selections are small but there's ample parking. I got (they are about $6.75 each) the green tea cheesecake, honey mango cheesecake (the one w/ the swirls in the photo) and the soufflé cheesecake. In terms of sweetness, IMO, the soufflé has the least followed by the matcha/green tea and the honey mango being the sweetest (probably due to honey and sugar contents). However, compared to French or American desserts, they're just about the right sweetness but I like the soufflé one since it's not too sweet (I found the honey mango too sweet still for my taste).
I will try other things next time that I'm in Ballard area.
