This spot is very unique and unusual, (in a good way). For starters, you're underground. The walls are all either brick, or stone and there are many paintings all along the walls that are rather strange, but fun and interesting to look at.
If you're not already in love then let's talk food. We didn't even get past the appetizers and were already blown away by the amazing flavors and presentation.
The waitress was very helpful and guided us through the unique menu, (including many drinks to choose from) and when we were ready to go our waitress had the check ready, but we never felt rushed.
All in all, this hidden gem has become one of my favorite spots. It's a must try.
The Gilded Unicorn is as magical as it sounds. After seeing the Nutcracker and checking out the Davenport Christmas trees, my mom, two of my nieces and I went to the Gilded Unicorn for dinner and it was the perfect way to conclude our special night out. We started with drinks (creamsickles for the girls, cocktails for the ladies) and decided to work our way through some appetizers. Beginning with "Devil on Horseback" (bacon wrapped dates stuffed with a toasted almond), "Bocce Rolls" (garlic confit and mozzarella stuffed rolls), and the charcuterie platter. All were excellent! We decided to split the Unicorn Mac'n'Cheese and when that came we ordered our dessert. Best mac'n'cheese I think I've ever had! The lemon curd dessert seemed rather lackluster in comparison to everything else but the double chocolate one was delicious. Overall, the whole experience was splendid. Our waiter was great, he took care of all our needs and kept on top of our orders without hovering. Five stars!
