I'm not a fan of cheese whiz but the cheese steaks with onions and sweet peppers and provolone are excellent. I had a chicken salad Hoagie last week and that was really good. They make it in house on the premises. The salads are fresh and all the food is reasonably priced. We like to come by and have a sandwich and a beer, play some pinball and look out the window on King Street and watch the tourists go by. and Always friendly service!
The cheeseburger was cooked to juicy perfection. The cheese was melted on the burger, not just placed on it after cooking. A just right, flavorful slice of tomato, a palm-sized piece of crisp romaine and not the spine part, raw onion slices, not too thick and not too thin tried to sneak out of the bun. AND the bun...do not get me started. Hubby had a great Philly steak. We were going to stop in the next morning and get one for breakfast, it was that good. This wasn't our first choice that night and I have to admit I was a bit hesitant. That first bite, the clouds parted and I heard angels . . . really. There was a full moon that night.
The cheesesteak - Provolone, mushrooms, wit was OUTSTANDING! Please keep in mind this is no Tony Luke’s, but it is REALLY GOOD! Try it, you’ll love it!
Excellent!. While its true that the sandwiches are a bit expensive I've never had a problem with them accepting a coupon. That said, I've found the service to be fast and friendly. I've seen many downtown restaurants come and go over the past 14 years and South-A-Philly's genuine Philly style fare is among the best I've experienced.
Although the Ultimate Italian hoagie is good the Roasted Pepper Garlic Cheese Steak is excellent!
So good!. I'm from New England where Philly cheese steaks are out of this world! This place is very close to that, fast and friendly, they even delivered to me n/c while I was working across the street. They are awesome!
Being from NJ it's hard to find a good Philly cheesesteak in FL, but Mitch and his staff @ SAP are great & the food is right on! They have killer pork roll too! It's our new favorite place to eat in St.Augustine! Enjoy!!
Philly was great! Mushrooms should come on it for no extra coast. Size of sub was small considering the price. Although price would not deter me from eating here again.
Other reviewers were correct on saying you should get the Philly with cheez wiz! It was fantastic! The perfect amount of greasy deliciousness! We also had the onion rings which were very good as well. It was a great atmosphere and overall a very good Philly!
Satisfied a cheesesteak craving. We stopped here on our way out of town and I'm glad we did. We got there about 11:10am so it had only been opened for about 10 mins so we were the only ones in there but it was so good. I got a regular cheesesteak with American cheese and onions and my boyfriend got the bufflao chicken hoagie with a side a curly fries for both. It was absolutely delicious. The place itself is pretty cool too. It's so long and narrow that you can really tell the age of the building. Service was great and food was even better. Definitely recommend for a good cheesesteak.
Cheesesteak is awesome. I have eaten here twice and I am in love. I am from South Jersey and have not been able to find anything even close to the same. They ship the bread right from a bakery in Atlantic City and the food is so good. They even have tasty cakes and Herr's potatoe chips. My husband was not as fond but he is from Va so what does he know about a good cheesesteak anyway ;) I live in Orlando and love going to St Augustine and eating here.

Good cheese-steak from the South..... Gotta say, not as good as Pat's but it was really heart-warming to have a cheese-steak full of plentyfullness without freezing my butt off in philly. The owner is super nice and his wife made us feel like at home just watching a game on the tube. Was really good and will return. My girl couldn't believe that a good cheese-steak is made with Wiz, awesome.
Yummy Cheese steak on a fresh roll, and delicious Cheese Fries, homemade I believe! Split as a snack if getting fries or eat a whole one by yourself, mmmmmmm!
My boyfriend is from Philly and says this is the closest he has come to an authentic Philly cheesesteak...I got the pizza steak ..both were absolutely amazing!!!! And it was awesome having the retro games there as well as Philly decor
I am from Philly! Lived there my whole life till I turned 18 or so and I'm 35 now. I have traveled the world and had many different "versions" of cheesesteaks. This is the FIRST TIME I have EVER been reminded of home! These guys rock! And they're from Philly! I will be coming here everytime I'm in St Augustine! Wow!! I'm full but still hungry!
Yo...it's been a long time since I've had a philly cheese steak and cheese fries. This place not only has them but it's legit! Food was excellent and tasted amazing 🤩
Fabulous place with great food and staff. Always friendly and fresh. Great for kids too. It's our daughter's favorite spot!
Hit em up late night when all the other kitchens were closed. Red pepper cheese steak and the jalapeno poppers were banging. I tried the yucca fries because why not. I'll probably skip them next time, but worth trying.
