Bellini's Cucina Italiana

I rarely write reviews but this place needed one and for great reason. I don’t understand the other reviews that weren’t very flattering. Maybe they’re a little to picky. It was a very nice place to eat Italian food. Prices are reasonable and the service was excellent. Great music playing and a very causal atmosphere. Since I live near by it will be a mainstay for me.

We've been to this place a total of 3 times and it's been consistent - decent enough food, friendly (if not always the fastest) service, and an overall reasonable price. Last time we were there, we (2 of us) started with the fried mozzarella and tomato caprese. The cheese and the marinara were pretty good and the caprese was only ok (tomatoes weren't ripe enough). From there we moved on to caesar salads which were good in that, unlike many places, they don't go overboard on the dressing, but the croutons were just out of the bag and so so. Next, for dinner was the Lasagna and the Pasta Combo (which, the menu says, consists of lasagna, Cannelloni, meat ravioli, and baked ziti. The lasagna meal was ok - IMO it lacks enough ricotta (to the point that it was difficult to find), but it was overall pretty tasty. The combo, while good, wasn't quite what was expected as we couldn't find any of the lasagna in it. What was there was well made, but it was just missing a part. The service was very friendly - the entire staff seems at ease and in good humor. The only issue was the service was also somewhat spotty in it's promptness - the food itself came in a timely manner but the drinks (just soda) came out after the apps and spent quite a bit of time empty during the meal. When we asked for more at one point, our sever was loaded down and asked another to get us drinks that never showed up. We drank those and had to wait a while until they were refilled. But, overall, the food was not bad (especially with the reasonableness of the prices) and service was friendly. A decent enough neighborhood restaurant.
