Highly recommend!! 10 Stars
The meal was excellent from start to finish. David, our server was prompt and attentive and willing to serve. The prime rib was like butter and the baked potato was delicious. It was my birthday and they gave us a bottle of wine and dessert as part of their birthday club. I can't think of a better meal close to home with great service. Thank you
We went for a birthday party and weren’t disappointed. The prime rib was tender and done to perfection. The lamb was great. The mahi-mahi was also very well done. TK was a great server.
Amazing family night out. Came out for dinner on Tuesday night food and service were amazing . The kids meals are noot like happy meals they dont give small portions . The kids steaks were just as good as mine . And the server did an amazing job to make our kids feel welcome and helped to keep them calm by getting there food out first . The appitizer sampler was great plenty to go around . and if you like chocolate like i do you must try the Chocolate Explosion . by the end of the meal i felt like exploding . Great food Great Service and great value would reccomend Harolds to everyone . We will be back
Great Food and Great Price. Looking for great atmosphere and delicious food at an amazing price? I found it!!!!!!! -Harold Seltzers Steakhouse- We started off by walking in through beautiful wooden double doors, and were immediately greeted by the friendly smile of the hostess', and the aroma of garlic and herbs. After a short wait of about 2 min, we were sat in a lovely booth under a fireplace. Being on a date, I found this rather romantic. As did my date. Our server arrived promptly with some tasty garlic croutons, which i found out, are baked on premises as well as their wonderful dinner rolls. Teresa, our server, was very well informed and professional. After going over some items both from the bar and new menu, we went with her recommendation of their new spinach and artichoke dip. It was served piping hot, the provolone cheese on top bubbling, with some toasted garlic crustini's. Thin and a perfect compliment to the dip, which itself was creamy and delicious. One of the best I've ever had. My date loved it as well. As we were finishing up, our salads arrived in perfect time. Crisp, cold and colorful. I had the house garlic ranch, and my date the vinaigrette. Both were fantastic and homemade as well. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, our entrees arrived. My prime rib ordered rare, came as I love it. Red, juicy, and so full of flavor. The seasoning blend and the meat come together in perfect harmony. My baked potato side was delicious as well. Mmmm, so good!!!
My date had the Jumbo Scallops, which came sauteed in garlic butter with a light crumb crust. Perfectly prepared, even for picky her. =-) And for a cream spinach lover, she was truly pleased. Worth every penny and more. We were offered dessert and an after dinner beverage, but unfortunately saved no room. As tempting as they were, all the more reason to come back. Maybe on Tuesday for their half priced appetizers in the bar. Sounds like another great deal from a great restaurant. Thanks Teresa, for an incredible evening. We will be back again.
As always - FANTASTIC. We have been coming to Seltzers for many years, when known as Sam Seltzer's to Harold Seltzer's of today and this was the best experience we have ever had. From the time we arrived, and were seated by Emily, until we left it was top shelf treatment. Brian, our server, and forgive me if I misspelled your name, made our experience exceptional. This young man is a consummate professional. Timing and timeliness was perfect. Just his attitude alone contributed immensely towards a wonderful evening.
As for the dinning, we started with the Wild Onion Rose appetizer and salads. We always start with the Rose as it is a great beginning. I had the Parmesan Crusted Crab Stuffed Tilapia. Superb! The other two members of our party had Jumbo Shrimp for one, and the other had Filet Mignon. They were absolutely delicious. perfectly prepared. I can't think of anyway the experience could have been improved upon.
It was a nice touch to be visited by Harold and we shared our delight with him. I can personally vouch for Harold's commitment to excellence. It is evident in every aspect of our visit.
Harold's "business philosophy" sets a very high standard to be met throughout his organization and we have never been disappointed in all our visits. We greatly anticipate our next visit ---- soon!
Harold Seltzer's Steakhouse - one of the highlights of our vacation. I'm American but I live in Europe. When my family and I were on vacation in St. Petersburg, my daughter wanted to eat in a typically American restaurant. She said this while we were driving down Tyrone Blvd, and I saw a sign for Harold Seltzer's Steakhouse, so I figured, let's go there for dinner. You can't get more American than a steakhouse. It was one of the best decisions I made on our trip!
The ambiance was really American. The service was really friendly and informative. Everything they brought to our table tasted simply out of this world! Very simple traditional dishes, but each dish had a special twist of its own.
I started out with a cup of creamy, hearty New England clam chowder. I'm originally from New York and have eaten a lot of great clam chowder, but this one was right up there with the best I've ever had. Then I was served a crisp, delicious Caesar salad, also exceptional. My girls both ordered the filet mignon, and my wife got the one with melted blue cheese. I ordered a rib eye steak with a special herb mixture on top. All the steaks were perfectly prepared and the meat was so full of flavor. The herbal mixture complemented my juicy ribeye perfectly.
The steaks were served with cream of spinach (out of this world - don't ask me how they were able to turn spinach into something special), and mashed garlic potatoes (which reminded me of mashed potatoes I once ate in a fine restaurant in Budapest).
My wife was joyous with her blue cheese filet, which I then tasted and I knew why. You know the food is good when you find yourself making little noises of approval while chewing. It was that kind of meal.
We topped the evening off with some yummy coffee, and three different desserts, which we all shared - key lime pie, chocolate explosion and my favorite, the napoleon.
Harold Seltzer himself even came by the table and asked how we were enjoying the meal. When we told him how we loved everything, you could see that he was happy to have brought us such a great dining experience.
All in all, my daughter got her American restaurant experience and then some. I can highly recommend Harold Seltzer's Steakhouse, especially if you're tired of all the exotic choices out there and are looking for reliable classics.
Love this restaurant.. We have had nothing but good and very good meals at this place. Recently tried their 1-1/4 lb. Lobster Special. Special it was. Harold must have a direct line to the cold waters of Canada for these guys because the taste was out of this world. (Lately I've had a lot of lobster that seems tasteless.) Mine was probably larger than the advertized size: I ordered the add-on tail on the menu and had to take it home because I was full already. My husband had the sirloin, which I have to admit this time wasn't up to the usual. But that was a rare occurrence; we've been here quite a few times, and we don't even live in the area. We have returned, and we will again.
We loved it. On may 4,2012 my wife and I traveled from The Villages to St Pete for a concert. We don't eat pork but very much enjoy beef ribs. Reviews posted on line left me wondering but as there aren't a lot of places that serve this item we went. What a WONDERFUL evening; great ribs and teriffic service. We will do this again and try the prime rib or steak next time.
Best prim rib in town. I have been to alot of places and ordered the prim rib and nothing compares to harolds, its cooked perfectly juicy and taste awesome , they have the best in town!!!
Excellent. Had friends in town and we chose Harold's for dinner. What a treat!! Prime rib was tender and perfectly cooked. Salmon was excellent. They have new daily specials and we just happened to go on Wine Wednesday. I/2 price on all wine, bottle or glass. Choose this one you won't be sorry!!
