Great spot! The decor is great, the food flavors were on point, lots of seating, nice and clean, or at least well-kept.. the menu was a bit overwhelming, but lots of great tasty options to satisfy every curious palate. They have their own soda drinks and lots of other drink options (including beer). The homemade salsa was good, but could use a little kick to it.
So this was our first time to eat at Capital Tacos, and if I am honest, we stumbled it upon mistake - we actually were going to go someplace else, and I am SO glad we didn't. The young man at the register was really helpful and let us take a minute to check out the menu. My hubby and I both ordered tacos and then shared an order of street corn. The Hungry Mexican Taco was a perfect mix of egg and chorizo & salsa (didn't last very long!), the Ace High Carnitas was amazing. We both ordered the Austinite with Carne Asade ... SO GOOD! My problem was that I was full after 2 tacos and couldn't try any others. My advice - don't go here on a first date - you'll make a fool out of yourself. If we lived closer we'd definitely be regulars! Thanks.
Really cool vibe. You can actually watch them make the food on the TVs. The food was great and unique. The desserts were good(although the cookie was slightly stale bust sill delicious). The staff were extremely friendly to my wife and 9 month old daughter so we will most definitely come back!
Juan, the manager, is soo amazing and really cares about his customers. The best service and tacos I have ever had. The Tampa Bay 2 Punch is one of the BEST drinks I have ever had! If you want an all around wonderful expereince, go to Capital Taco!!!
Very different taco offerings with ample fillings. Loved the tastes. Two of us got 4 different tacos, each with very different flavors. You can get them in different formats too, like in a bowl or salad rather than a taco. The soft taco shells did not fall apart. It is packed for lunch...get there by 11:30 or no parking. Only downside was the off-brand soda machine and the iced tea did not taste freshly made. The restaurant in the space previously had one of the high-end Coke mixing fountains; Capital Tacos should go back to that.
As soon as you walk in the atmosphere was very great, the restaurant was very rustic and up beat. Everything was cooked to order and if dining inside the food is hand delivered to the tables, it's hot and also they have condiments to complete the seasoning process such as hot and mild sauces. They have closed circuit TVs that also show the way your food is being prepared and fresh drinks including Sangria's, special lemonades and different beers and juices as well. After 8pm there are many specials also.
