I haven't had Hooters in years and I must say they have turned it around. Kai my server was one of the best servers Iv had in a long time. She was very pleasant and sweet when interacting with my daughter, she was very attentive, friendly and fast at making sure we had what we needed. Great Job Kai for being great at your job, management should definitely reevaluate her as a employee and give her a raise, she absolutely the best server at this location. Very professional
OK, why 4 Stars and not 5 Stars when the food was perfect, the server was friendly, fun, and attentive. We were comfortable and enjoyed our visit 100%. Normally that is a 5 Star review without a thought. However, when we got our check, I was shocked! Did they overcharge? No. Was there an error in what we ordered? No. That part was accurate. Now at the bottom of the receipt is the little text that has the tip suggestions. I always look at it but do my own math. I’m good at math and just do that anyway. So, our food and drinks (some beer) was $50.03 subtotal before tax. The suggested tips had 15% ($6.31), 18% ($7.57), and 20% ($8.41)! OK, anybody with any math skills knows that 20% of 50 bucks is $10.00, not $8.41. Most of the establishments we go anymore start with a suggested tip of 20%, then have 23% and 25% as default and often based on the tax included. I pointed out this error in suggested tips to our server, Zoie, and she said it has been brought up before, but it was due to “Tax or something.” Well, it has nothing to do with tax, it is a mistake pure and simple. While we were there she had several tables during mid-afternoon which is not the busiest time. She was working hard yet still had time to be bright and pleasant to us. At a 20% tip (we tip more) based on the “suggested tip” she would be out over $1.50 on our table and with a full shift could be out $40.00 to over $50.00 on a busy day with 25 to 35 tables during a shift. Even a slow shift with 10 to 20 tables is $15.00 to $30.00 in tips deserved and lost if most people use the suggested tips. I mentioned this to her, and she didn’t know how to respond. I said I’ll do what I can to fix it planning on a Google review of 4 Stars. I am sure management will read this and if it is fixed next time we visit, I’ll remove the review. See attached receipt for reference. The idea is to SUGGEST A TIP THAT IS FAIR to the great servers who work so hard at the Tyrone Mall Hooters. They deserve every penny.
UPDATE: Was there today and all was excellent. The receipt suggested the correct tip. Updated to 5 Stars.
Went for lunch today. I have never been there before and pass it all the time leaving the mall. Man now I can’t wait to go back. The original bone in wings were great. Hot and crispy and had just the right amount of sauce on them. And also had a fried chicken sandwich with curly fries. They were also great. And service was perfect. I forgot her name. But started with an A. She was great. Checked on us often and kept the drinks refilled. Great experience. Will definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff.
