Focaccia bread out of this world and our main dish, capellini cacciatore was to die for. Our server, Rachel, was awesome. Music by Joe Jason brought back many wonderful memories of the 70’s to help celebrate my wife’s birthday. All in all, AAA+!!! Can’t wait to come back. Well worth the drive!
Hubby and I went last night for our anniversary. All the wonderful things we had heard about Santaniello's were completely true! From the moment we walked in the door and was greeted by a heavenly smell from the kitchen, we knew we were in the right place. Our server (Alex) was excellent and had a wonderful happy attitude. Trying to select from the menu was hard because everything sounded so yummy. Each item was perfect. The owner was there and explained how everything is made right there, down to the dipping sauce for the calamari. She treated us to tiramisu for our anniversary and it was the best I've ever had. You will find us there again - soon!
Paradox Total confusion at .... Paradox
Total confusion at the front. They put us on a wait list for 15 minutes then told the list was only for outside seating and that we could sit inside immediatly. Then the waiter took off with two menus but never called our name. 5 minutes later he came back and collected us. My beer was delivered in hand.as if I was at a backyard BBQ. Serious staff training needs to happen here. The food on the other hand was off the chart. Authentic stellar Italian.
AKA Glenlord Pizzeria. Me and my husband had dinner here on our first date 20 years ago. They must be doing something right if they are still open...Their pasta and pizzas are very good. We stop and have dinner here whenever going thru stevenville.
Good food. Mediocre service. Way overpriced.
Fantastico!. The hotel I was staying at recommended I try this place. When my co-worker and I say how full the parking lot was, we were concerned we'd have to wait a long time for our dinner. The service and atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed sitting next to the fire place. Our food arrived in great time. Their lasagna and bread sticks were fantastic. The pizza another table ordered also looked great. I plan to come back next time I'm in town.
Wonderful Pizza!. I love to go here for date night, or a night out with the girls. It has great Italian food and GREAT pizza. Live music and wonderful atmosphere. Affordable.
Oh, yess. I would put it this way, I have some chicago friends in the restaurant industry. When they visit, they take Santaniello's pizza...home...to Chicago. This operation started as the front room of Mami and Papi Santaniellos house 3 years ago and is still run by the family. In the St. Joe area there aren't too many really good meals, unless you are eating Italian. An influx of Italian immigrants brought sincere, unpretentious food with them and have been serving it up at places like Santaniello's and nearby Tosi's ever since. The crusts can be large but are worth eating on their own and the non-pizza menu items are also very good.
Santaniello's Restaurant aka 'Glenlord Pizzaria'.. Santaniello's is still family-operated, and everything from the minestrone soup to the noodles and pizza dough is homemade. Santaniello's has become a favorite area restaurant and, for many people, this place has become part of "home."
My husband came in to see the art fair and celebrate our 10yr anniversary. We took a chance with a suggestion from Google maps to check out this restaurant...... and was not disappointed. Even though they had service going on in the banquet hall and a class reunion in the dining area, we were still able to sit and eat out on the beautiful deck. Service was great. Our waitress was beyond Awesome! And the food was spectacular!!!! We had calamari and peeled shrimp as appetizers followed by a hoagie for my husband and an egg plant parmesan for myself. Huge, huge servings!
Other then trees covering/hiding the sign and driving by it .... this place was beyond expectations and we'll diffently visit again and recommend.
Everything is delicious here, Focchia bread is the best with a side salad and blue cheese dressing. Had manicotti, arugula balsamic pizza, fried lake perch and shrimp scampi. Adriane is the best server ❤️
“Authentic Italian”
Some of the best authentic pizza you'll ever have! The crust is spot on. The sauce is spot on. The toppings are generous and fresh. And they don't skimp on the cheese, either.
I was there last week and my son and I got the Ribeye Steaks. Neither one of could finish our meal and he's an 18-year-old 6'3" eating machine.
They have a quaint, rather romantic, dining room with a circular fireplace in the center. On the other side of the bar area is a more casual setting. In the summer, they have seating on a patio.
I highly recommend it.
Amazing food! Pricey but well with it!
My family & I tried this restaurant last night…we had the best time & loved everything. We had drinks & appetizers then tried the pizza, several pasta dishes & dessert. Food portions were generous, definitely could have shared a meal after having the appetizers. Everything was so good. The atmosphere & staff were friendly & inviting.
My wife and I really enjoyed this place. We had some seafood (calamari, mussels, shrimp and scallops) which was cooked perfectly. My wife also had veal parmesan which she said was excellent. The garlic bread was great too! The waitress was good and I really appreciated her proactive dealing with my food allergy. I'm allergic to nightshades, which isn't very common and generally poses a challenge for Italian cuisine. She offered alternatives and I had zero issues with cross contamination.
I'm not sure why there are such negative reviews, especially regarding a long wait time for the pizza. We were told the same thing, but we thought the heads-up was nice. We just picked something else.
First visit, we had the veggie pizza which was loaded w/vegetables and cheese and is now our second favorite pizza. Our only complaint would be that it needed more sauce. Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was good.
We had take out- very good shrimp scampi, spaghetti with meat sauce, steak with mushrooms and onion rings. Terrific focaccia! Great desserts. Best take out in months!
Very disappointing lack of masking in both staff and customers. Haven't they heard of COVID variants?
I had the salmon pasta. It was excellent, if a little sweet. The garlic flat bread appetizer they bring you was a good alternative to fresh bread. The dinner salad was also tasty with a variety of fresh lettuce and vegetables. The place is obviously popular as it is very busy. They had a good selection of local beers, which is great if in SW MI, because there are dozens of fabulous breweries around here. Good food, I will go back.
Delicious italian food, live music, clean bathrooms, and cozy atmosphere.
