Visited Susuin City on a spur of the moment Sunday day trip from Danville. Discovered Athenian Grill. What a delicious find! Between the two of us we tried avgolemono soup, the meze platter, dolmades, and the Greek salad without lettuce, retsina wine and a Mythos beer. The soup was creamy and full of chicken, rice and some carrots and celery. After squeezing some lemon into the soup it was perfect. Not sure how they get the grape leaves so tender on the dolmades but I am appreciative that they found a way. The meze platter was large with dolmades, spanakopita (2 kinds), Greek salad, feta cheese and Greek meatballs. Sat outside on the patio since the day was mild due to the smoke from the Lake and Yolo County fires. Topped off lunch with semi sweet Greek coffee. We will definitely be returning soon! Next trip I want the lamb stew!

As always, the server was friendly, the avgolemono soup was incredibly thick and creamy, with fresh veggies, big chili is of freshly shredded chicken, and a hint of lemon. The Greek salads were incredibly flavorful with fresh lettuce. The view is stunning. I brought my Mom, who is from Michigan, to enjoy. We left satisfied.
First time at the Athenian Grill and it was really good! It's been newly renovated and is very nicely done. The bathrooms are clean and modern and the patio area with the view of the water and boats is nice. The food was generous and fresh. Lentils were cooked perfectly as a side to my chicken pita sandwich. French fries with the Lamb pita sandwich and hamburger were just perfect. We got there at opening time but didn't have to wait very long for our meal (probably 15 mins). The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The food was worth the price!
Great little Mediterranean restaurant right on the Suisun waterfront. We had the fried zucchini with tzatziki sauce, falafel plate and the fish and chips. All was delicious. The fish was sooo amazing, it melted in your mouth. Highly recommend. Be patient with service as they are short staffed.
Delicious quick dinner in a casual atmosphere next to the water. Greek favorites done well! Greek wines, local wines and beer!
I ordered a Gyro Sandwich and Fries, Carrot Cake and Onion Rings. The Fries I would highly recommend but not the Onion rings. The Carrot Cake was wonderful. The Gyro Sandwich should be tried by everyone. Make sure you ask for light on the Tzatziki Sauce. Malia is an excellent Waitress and should be commended for being nice and courteous and doing a tremendous job !!!
Wow, wow, wow!! Fantastic Greek food that is loaded with flavor. We tried the fried zucchini, hummus, and gyro pita sandwich and all of it tasted amazing. I’ll be back!
Fabulous atmosphere and food. Authentic Greek or you might choose a cheeseburger! Excellent fried zucchini!
