We stopped in to Eva's on a whim at 5:45 on a Saturday evening, and got right in. We must have timed it just right, because the place filled up to capacity right after we were seated. Eva's recently celebrated their 20th anniversary in Syracuse, and it's easy to see why... the food! It is fantastic from appetizer to dessert, with no flaws! Service was friendly and efficient, with the owner even helping out as things got busy. I stated with the day's special sweet cabbage soup, which was delicious, but not too sweet. Nice chunks of carrots and cabbage. I couldn't choose between two different potato pancake recipes, so I took our server's advice and tried two of each, the Hungarian stuffed potato pancakes and the house special potato pancakes. Both were delicious! The house special had a flavorful tomato meat sauce on them, served with sour cream on the side. The Hungarian stuffed had a spiced ground beef filling, with a creamy mushroom sauce on top. I tried a Russian wheat beer, served with a side of sweet raspberry syrup to flavor it. My wife enjoyed her meal of borscht soup, potato pierogis, and a side of cabbage, beans and carrots. Eva's is really known for their homemade desserts, and they were wonderful! I had a mocha butterscotch mousse brownie cake and my wife had the chocolate covered banana mousse cake. The entire meal was reasonable, coming in at just under $70 with a 20% tip added in.

Syracuse has only a few really good, unique places to eat dinner. Without a doubt, Eva's is one of them. Over the last 10-20 years we've lost many old favorites. Eva's gives you flavor of a genuine Old World restaurant. The food is authentic and the portions are generous. The Eastern European recipes are familiar and comforting, often more flavorful and satisfying than you were expecting. But Eva's real buried treasure is the beer menu. In this day of over-hyped craft beers, and the bars and brewpubs flooded with ridiculously over-hopped IPAs, here you will find a collection of finely brewed lagers and ales that taste just right. Had a Latvian porter lately? How about a Russian Imperial Stout? Or maybe you'd prefer a light, but nicely malty blond lager? No drafts on tap at Eva's. All the beer is in bottles. The menu is a delight for beer lovers. Each beer listed has a brief flavor profile, alcohol percentage, and bottle size. It's a an enlightening read. Most diners won't make it halfway through their first meal without planning another visit. And at Eva's prices, that visit won't be a long wait.

Eva's serves up some wonderfully tasty Eastern European classics. Whether it is the pierogies, kielbasa, sauerkraut or the gulasz, you will be certain to enjoy flavors that are instantly familiar. Our sever was pleasant and attentive. Without asking, she brought us clean extra plates to share. The atmosphere was charming with Polish chatter amongst the kitchen team, making it all look so easy in the back. An appetizer of smoked kielbasa, then a serving pierogies and a stew entre was enough to keep two of us content for a lunchtime meal. Definitely recommend.

What a fabulous place to experience Polish food. It's like medicine for the body and soul. The garden out back is extraordinary , a fabulous place to have dinner or any meal.

We were two dirtbag motorcyclist, traveling across the country on our way to Dirt Daze ADV rally in New Hampshire. We happened upon Eva’s from the Googley reviews and decided to stop in. Oh My God this place it awesome. The pork dinner was just like something my grand mother made. Seasoned like it was out of the old country and comfort bake right in.

My friend and I dropped by for lunch on a Wednesday while on a day trip to Syracuse. I had a hankering for stuffed cabbage, which I hadn't had since I was a teenager in the 1980s. These are on the menu under their Polish name, golabki. My friend ordered the Polish Platter, which contained a little bit of everything: Kielbasa, a golabki, sauerkraut, perogies and something called "Hunter's Stew". Our order came out in less than ten minutes. The food was delicious! We also enjoyed the atmosphere. It was very cozy, with dozens of pieces of Polish artwork on the walls. There's also an autographed poster of Guy Fieri, who paid them a visit at one point. It's obvious to see why he liked this place!

You know a polish resteraunt is good when you hear a lot of people sitting around you speak polish. Both interior and exterior has wonderful decorations. Their food is affordable and excellent quality and with A LOT of good options (vegetarian options too!). Typically we just eat an entrée and leave but we enjoyed the ambiance so much we decided to get appetizers and dessert as well!

So I have to admit, the food was so good I forgot to take photos before we started eating. What a great place! It is so warm and welcoming and the food! The soups are delicious. The poppy seed roll was a taste reminiscent of Gramma. This is a place to return to again and again.
