Picked this place based on other google reviews. It was your old school diner. The husband and wife owner operators were super nice. The food was quick and good. Prices are good. Parking is limited. I would certainly go back.
Just had dinner there last night! Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
There were 6 of use. We enjoy all our entrees. Will not hesitate to go back.
If you are in Downtown Syracuse well worth the stop. Not fancy it's a good diner.
Came in just walking off the street on a Wednesday afternoon.
Attentive, friendly owner. Really tasty food with enough to satisfy (had the colorful frittata and a tuna sandwich). Solid prices. Subjectively, it felt like I was home here having lunch.
If only I lived here, would -definitely- be coming back again.
We found this diner on our way to the Erie Canal Museum. Its classic diner architecture stood out against the backdrop of multi story industrial style buildings a cheerful and nostalgic beacon offering good food and friendly service. If you're looking for warmth, nostalgia and good food drop in and be charmed and delighted.
The food was okay and priced fairly. It's got that distinct and unmistakable diner vibe to it, from the furnishings to the exterior of the place. The elderly couple who runs this place was such a lovely and welcoming pair who treats everyone who walks in like family.
The owner is always there and very friendly. The service is fast and I usually go there on Friday's for the fish fry. You get a good size piece of fish with fries for $7.00 how can you beat that!
Our waitress saw that a member of our party had some difficulty, and attended to us extremely graciously, even to the extent of opening the front door while we were coming up the steps. The BLT and turkey club sandwiches were excellent, and the portion of the root beer very large.
Wonderful diner! The meatball sub was delicious. Omelettes were very nice. Clean place, friendly staff, great service. Love finding these silver diners!
On the first day of the NYS Fair, we ate dinner at JJ's At The Fair! Getting hungry for dinner and glancing posted public menu's down the food strip at the NYS Fair, saw "pot roast beef sandwich" which my mom and I found interesting and unusual for a fair; but very enticing by its name and sounded good! The server/waitress Cassy (Niece to the owner we learned.) saw we were interested and offered my mom a sample of the beef. Once my mom bit into it, I see my mom's eye roll and said it was scrumptious! Without having a bite of it myself, and hearing my mom says it is very good; well, I gave in and had to have a pot roast beef sandwich too! The sandwich stands when served with soft fresh rolls top and bottom 3-4 inches high filled with beef! The beef is not spicy nor stringy either. It is similar to roast pork, but in beef form! They have it marinated in a mild sauce that is not a gravy, but in its own juice! We ordered fries and 2 soda drinks! It was very good indeed! If at the NYS Fair, need to stop by this family ran restaurant on the food strip! It is slow roasted already in some pot or container behind the counter, so there is no long waiting period! Cassy told me they offer this sandwich at their main location on Water Street, but only as a special at times. I suggest you (JJ's) have it permanently on your menu! You will never regret stopping there for this delicious pot roast beef sandwich! Thank you!
The owner is 1 of a kind. Walking in I felt like I knew him for years. The food was on point and the conversation was above and beyond. I will be back
