Spear It is a restaurant located right off of Florida State University's Campus that serves up a variety of American plates. This restaurant feels as if it is a part of the campus because it is decorated with aspects of FSU's culture. When you walk in you know that it is going to be a fun place to eat. If you're looking for a plate to please everyone at the table, the beer cheese and bacon fries will do the job. With about a pound of french fries smothered in their four cheese blend, bacon, and beer cheese, you know you can't go wrong with this plate. It was devoured within seconds, vanished before our eyes! For the main dishes we had a Chicken Tender Plate with Crispy Mac and Fries, a Shrimp Bowl, and two Chicken Bowls. The Chicken Tender Plate had a large amount of food which was appropriate for how much it had cost. The tenders were crispy and the meat was juicy. The crispy mac and cheese was very good but after a few bites it felt very heavy. The shrimp bowl perfectly combined lots of different flavors that complemented each other very well. The Sriracha sauce served with it packed quite a punch but it paired well with the plain rice. The shrimp was tender and seasoned very well. The chicken in the chicken bowls were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The option of a bowl at Spear It is great because it allows for a customizable taste experience. We finished off with the Donuts and Coffee whipped cream dessert. The donuts were crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside and were served warm. The Coffee Whipped Cream was dull and had an odd flavor, lacking in coffee taste until the end of the bite. The donuts were better off dipped in the caramel or chocolate sauces, which were also provided with the dish. All in all this trip to Spear It was delightful.
