Stopped by this past Saturday after finding they provide vegan cheese for their pizza. The person prepping my pizza remembered to put on new gloves for the cheese, so I didn't have to worry about the dairy cheese being mixed in. It was so good and filling, and it was nice for me to try another place with vegan options and not have to deal with any hiccups. Will definitely be coming back!
Stopped in today on my way to another part of town. When I came in it wasn't busy, the restaurant was clean and orderly, like it should be. The lady that made pies for my family had a good attitude, though she seemed a little stressed. At some point I realized she was the only person working the front, possibly the whole store, and still was great to her customers. I'm not done yet, the pizza I had was probably the best I've ever had at Pie five. I have never written a review and given five stars, something could always be done better. Well, I found an exception, an employee giving 110%!
We enjoyed our first trip so much we wanted to return the next day.
We just finished up at Old Chicago (we had a free pub pizza coupon). Short of the airy deep dish crust, the pizza was too greasy and lacked good flavor.
I think Pie 5 will succeed just fine, especially for people who actually enjoy pizza. It's filing and not heavy and there's a ton of options.
Even if the soft opening effects the grand opening (which I don't think it will) I think people will likely migrate there for pizza - it's just better.
