If you do the local ramen circuit around Gardena and Torrance, you will find that there are a number of good and even great places. This is one that deserves to be in the top 10 without question. It will certainly be in many peoples' top 5. What makes this place special is the consistency of quality, the taste, and the provision of things like fresh garlic. The fact that the place gets swarmed with a predominantly Asian crowd is a good indication that you have found a local ramen nirvana. Keep that in mind around lunch time as it can be a long line to get in.
In the top 5 of all time best without a doubt. The ramen is flawless, and the service is great too. There are certain things that I feel made this place exceptional, the service, the food, and the ability to customize.
I went to hakata ikkousha in torrance sunday afternoonish , and ordered godfire ramen, and pan fried gyozo. The server kindly took the time to walk me through the choices, and help me build a beautiful bowl of ramen. One can choose the base broth, meat, and additional vegetables. I also added some gyozo to the mix.
The server returned to place my order, and came back to the table to answer additional questions I had about the restaurant, and food. After a short time the server returned to my surprise with my food. Then took the time to help me understand the additional sides on the table; garlic, spicy greens, ginger, sauces, and water. Having a jug of water at the table was a great touch because I didn't have to ask for a drink everytime i wanted a refill. ONE SUGGESTION IS THAT THEY GET FOUNTAIN DRINKS. The canned soda option was a slight turn off.
The food was fresh, deleciouso, and favorfull. All in all an excellent job, and would highly recommend this place. My only suggestion would be the addition of a fountain drink station.
🇯🇵 JAPAN (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - For many, tonkotsu broth can be a bit overwhelming with all the porcine glory of bones and fat remaining in each rich bite, but here like in the Hakata Ward of Fukuoka the broth is clean and lovely. It is by no means light, but it has a care that does not go into many bowls thrown on menus in California. Even if you usually avoid this style of ramen, it is worth testing it out here for a truer taste of how it should be done.
I come here for authentic tonkotsu ramen. Ordered with premium toppings which doubles the pork and adds a boiled egg. The full-flavored pork broth is their specialty here and definitely one of the best around! Highly recommended!
Went here by chance tonight wanting a hot soup and ordered the Tonkatau Ramen with everything. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The broth was excellent, the bamboo was fresh and tasty and the Nori was excellent. Pork pieces were a good size and the Wood ear mushrooms were splendid. The combination was like many I’ve had in Taiwan and Japan so it was great to have those familiar tastes here. I combined this with Karage (fried chicken) which had a wonderful crispy texture although the chicken was a little dry for my taste. I’m retrospect the ramen was easily big enough to be filling so the chicken wasn’t necessary but I was hungry. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. This is a gem of a ramen shop and worth a visit. I can highly recommend
Three of us

Just look at this ramen. There are no words that can convey what you feel when eating it. Get the mantai tonkotsu and dont sleep on their fried rice and karaage!
Came for their 6th anniversary. They were packed but handled it well. Karaage are huge pieces and come with something that tasted like yuzu kosho. Wish they had the classic mayo and lemon. Black garlic ramen was good; I chose light flavor and it was light. Egg was the best.
So rich taste soup !! Tasty!!!!
It is not stink pork , It's Appetizing smell good smell. Karaage/ Japanese style flied chiken so crispy and tasty,.

This is my go-to date spot when i feel like eating ramen. The food is good and very affordable so your date won't expect you to split the bill. I would suggest going at about 7pm so you can use the excuse of having an early day tomorrow to go home.
