I drove by a few times and decided to stop in and am so glad we did. Everything on the menu sounds yummy. We went with the Reuben and whole hog and man both were awesome. The blueberry Bbq sauce was a great addiction and went good on everything to help balance the cheese and when I say cheese I mean cheese! Will be back and recomend strongly to anyone that loves cheese and good food!
We were going to grab a burger at Arnold's tonight, but a happy little accident happened. They were out of meat, so they closed. I had a hungry (and tired) 18-month-old to feed after a long day at the zoo so I went to trusty Google. I found out that Her Meltdown Diner Too was really close by. I thought "Why not? I've seen them on Facebook."
We arrive and before I anger my son with getting out of the car and back into the torture chamber (carseat) immediately, I poke my head into the business and ask if it is okay that we come in because it's within probably about 20 minutes of them closing. I said "I've got a hungry baby and just need to feed him."
So what did the lady say to me with it being that close to closing?
"I'm here til 8 anyway. Come on in." And she meant it!
She then had us pick a booth and got our drink orders. While we were deciding what to get, my mother stated how she didn't like blueberry so she wasn't sure about the blueberry BBQ sauce. This wonderful woman was so patient and helpful that she brought a cup of it over so my mom could sample it before deciding. Which it was awesome btw!
We never once felt rushed. We felt welcomed.
To top it off, the Jalapeño popper melt was amazing. I added ham because yum! The peach jalapeño jam that accompanies it was delicious. So many flavors that beautifully complemented each other. My parents got the slaw BBQ sandwich. The coleslaw was made fresh and was so delicious. We were all trading sandwiches because both were just that good!
Evan, my son, seemed to enjoy pickles and the cookies that come with the sandwiches. LOL, toddler diet. His grilled cheese was great, too, because we sampled it as well.
The service was wonderful, the lady was welcoming and patient, and the food was glorious. It is easily one of my new favorite places.
Even my mom said, "You're a damn good cook!" to the lady. That's a high compliment from my mama.
I’ve been working through a list of local, non-chain places & Friday night was Her Meltdown Too. Let me tell you- I was so pleased, I’m gonna be thinking about this for awhile. Linda, the cook/waitress was a delight, so personable, & the ambiance was perfect… but I was shocked that we were the only table on a Friday evening- one other table finished up as we were ordering. Apparently this is more of a hot place for lunch, not dinner- so this is good news if you’re looking for a quiet dinner spot!
Anyways- fried green tomatoes- delicious. I ordered the Jalapeño popper sandwich & my mom ordered the Reuben… both were gooey, cheesy, & large portions… My jalapeño popper sandwich came with a peach jalapeño sauce they make in-house- 🤤🤤 I’d like to bottle & drink it.
Anyways- just sharing some good in case someone has forgotten about it or never heard of it. Hope you have as good experience as we did!
