I came to show my respect. We all know what happened at Robb elementary. I search for a near Mexican restaurant checked out the reviews and I said why not here! As soon as I walked in the place was very clean . However I wasn’t convinced about the food. I fear it was going to be not so great food..but I was wrong. The drinks came in cans with a cup of ice. Which was great nothing but fresh soda. Ice tea was very tasty not to sweet just right. The food was GOOD!! I will come back again. The food hits Abuelita’s kitchen for sure! The restrooms are clean and has space along with a baby Changing table so daddy can change baby too😊….you won’t be disappointed. Will come again. Prices are fair services awesome….

I loved eating here! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our server, Norma, took great care of us. The food came out fast and fresh. Perfectly crunchy black bean tostadas, tasty beef on the crispy tacos, and the cheese enchiladas were perfectly cheesy. Accompanied by well seasoned refried beans and rice with a deep roasted garlic flavor, the best rice I've had in Texas! Their 87th Anniversary is tomorrow, May 6th, and they are definitely doing it right. Congrats! We'll be back soon!

Had lunch at Vasquez and it was amazing! The “Henry” was an excellent enchilada combo plate! Met the owner “Quique” who’s grandmother started the restaurant in 1935. Enjoyed our visit and learned a lot of interesting history about his family’s restaurant. Service was excellent also! Thanks Zulema! If you stop in be prepared to wait a few minutes longer as all the items are made in house and takes a little extra time but it’s worth the wait!!!!

Our server was very polite and took good care of us. The soft beef taco plate was amazing. The corn tortillas were so good and everything was high quality and presented well. The refried beans were the best I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant itself was very clean and the restroom sparkled, it was so clean. Beautifully decorated. This was the first time that I’ve been there since the father/grandfather, Henry, passed, but it won’t be the last. Henry would be very proud of their family restaurant!

Nice staff and atmosphere! A family owned and family run restaurant that has been there for many many years. In most Mexican food restaurants they bring chips and salsa for your enjoyment while you view menu..although here they made their own and it takes a little longer and you pay extra to order. Pricing for special of the day was moderate...$14.95 plus you pay for drinks ..chips..salsa..so a bit on the higher end. Food was fresh..and I'd rate mine at about a "7".

I hardly eat out because I love cooking at home; but when I do, I will support local business. It's usually breakfast time if I eat out but today I worked from 8am to 5pm without a break or eating. Im super tired and I didn't want to cook, but more importantly I didn't want to wash dishes afterwards 🤪 The food was amazing! It tasted homemade. All your staff today was interactive, helped each other with their tables and the food came out hot and in a timely manner. If I get more evenings off, you'll be seeing me more often when I'm too lazy to cook 😁 Love yall and have always wished yall nothing but the best and nothing but positive energy!

From the clean lines and light decor to the friendly staff and the wonderful, freshly prepared fare, this gem of a restaurant is worth the drive from San Antonio. At most restaurants, little thought is given to the rice and beans. At New Vasquez, the sides of rice and beans are light and fluffy and fresh and could stand alone. The cheese enchiladas are the best I have ever had. (Sorry, Mom.) The service was attentive but not smothering. Our sever was Bri. She guided us in our selections and was most helpful. A conversation with owner Queque Vasquez (co-owner with his wife) made us feel like honored guests and not customers. Highly recommended.
