Most hot dog stands are defined by what they put on their dogs, there is no shortage of that here, but it starts way before that! It starts with an awesome attitude towards customer service. Then, there is the locally made ciabatta bun, genius! On top of that is the wholesome juicy local sausage dog, THEN comes the ingenious fresh homemade toppings, some customer inspired, (more of that customer service). Then you throw a perfect health score on top of that and BOOM, who wouldn't want to try one, or a couple!
First off Gabriel is a really nice guy. He happily takes the time to explain his offerings and as we waited in line he greeted nearly every customer in front of us from memory.
The dogs are LEGIT. It was a very tasty sausage and my daughter loved the ciabatta roll as opposed to a traditional cheap white flour bun.
There is a large selection of sauces and toppings (include home made pickles and kraut).
The gourmet offerings are too good to be ignored. We had the Jamaican Jerk dog today with a great mix of heat and flavor.
The Nomad is worth the drive!
I've been wanting to try this place since it popped up by the court house. Finally had a chance to stop and try it today. They were the best hot dogs I've ever had. The dog itself was delicious, but the toppings and sauces were absolutely sublime. Definetely the number 1 hotdog in Vancouver. If you haven't tried The Nomad, YOU MUST! You won't be disappointed.
