We loved this place. Food was excellent and service was also. First of all, they serve you a bowl of pickles. Not bread. Not chips and salsa. Pickles! Quinoa Bowl had kimchee and gogjujong vinaigrette. They had me at kimchee. I had to add more siracha for spice for me but it was great. Steak in the quinoa bowl was marbled more than I like but it was good. Husband had the philly steak burger and it was huge messy and delicious. Best of all was our amazing server Juanita. She was fabulous.
Burgers are excellent so full of flavor service however meal came fast there was 6 of us but after that service was slow especially drinks Mac and cheese was outstanding when it finally came would go again but ask for best server they have - seriously ask
We were looking for a restaurant nearby. We used Google and other users. We weren’t disappointed. A great choice, including for children. Burgers are not out of reach. Small eaters will find their happiness, great eaters too. The ingredients are fresh and very tasty. The salads are delicious, the burgers can be customized. The reception is very warm and the employees reactive. The proof is, we stayed two days on Washington, we ate there two days in a row
A great dinner experience at an incredibly unique place that kept us constantly busy noticing all the odd and surprising decor!
Here's the rub: The staff is fantastic, the location is easily accessible. The prices are extremely fair, and the food was absolutely delicious. I tend to get a simple plain burger when visiting a new location, and my goodness the quality of the meat at this price point was incredible. Get a quality side, like the sweet potato fries, and you are set.
NOW... let's talk about the decor, and what decor it is! Vintage shelves filled with nick-knacks, brick walls, wood walls, fur walls, awesome light sources, it's all extremely unique but works its way to your consciousness so subtly, you notice things throughout the whole meal. As we were eating, i saw my Fiance staring up at the ceiling, and i followed her eyes. "Is that rough concrete? Wait..no... is that carpet?!?"
One of the most fun and interesting settings I've been to for sure. I absolutely recommend this place, and will be back!
I like the location of the restaurant (nice view) and the atmosphere. Burgers were tasty and juicy, good fries. The service was fast (off-peak time) our waitress was friendly. Cons: the host wasn’t friendly or accommodating, and they weren’t selling alcohol due to a license issue.
Edit
The next times we visited the service was great. I hope they can reopen soon.
This was our second visit to b on Penn Quarter and this visit was perfect. Don't want to dwell too much about our first visit a few months back and why I didn't post a review. Let's just say that the service on our first visit left much to be desired but the manager made sure that we come back for a second try and we did.
The food was delicious and service was wonderful. We had someone in our party with multiple food allergies and restrictions and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the kitchen's capability and they accommodated her food restrictions perfectly.
The Baja burger, the turkey burger, the classic Burger and the soy-free, dairy-free, gluten-free Burger and fries were all delicious. BTW, they ground their own meat every day for the burgers
B Burger also offers a very nice selection of draft beer.
I don’t know why I never noticed this place before. It’s right next to Chopt at the archives metro stop. I just had a drink, the Kentucky lemonade, which was good. Everyone said the burgers were great. Took off a star for the poor service. When I asked where my party was sitting I was just kind of waved in a direction like “go figure it out.” I was meeting a new group of people so I had no idea who to look for. The waitress seemed overwhelmed with the large party but did her best. Seems like a cool place. I would come back.
Love b Penn Quarter. The food is always good and the people are even better. Our last trip was for Bourbon Month first friday. The menu was paired with bourbon suggestions and some bourbon infusion. The staff was polite and engaging. There were even a couple bourbon vendors on site with some decent swag. We will be back. Thanks!
Prices are great as portions are huge. Loved the bacon and cheese burger, super tasty! Meat was medium rare just the way it should be. Fries were ok. Service is fast, friendly. Menu is varied, they offer fish and chips, salads, mac & cheese, and different appetizers. Really close to the National Gallery area. Venue is cozy, not too loud, good ambience. Definitely a great place to grab a burger.
Service was awesome!!! Thanks Michael!
Food was great also... we had burgers.
Green beans fries, sweat potato fries and onion rings.
and A flight of beer was only $10 ( try 5 different brews).
Reasonable priced especially for location.
Great job!!
Great place, the food was amazing I ordered the breakfast burger. It was cooked to perfection and the tots were awesome. We spent the day at the museums near by, and it was a block away and it was worth the walk the waiter did a great job made suggestions to my friends and myself since we are from out of town. I would recommend to anyone in the area.
SERIOUSLY THE BEST FOOD ON THE PLANET!! If your in DC you have to eat here, I visited twice and everything we had was outstanding. The service is good but the food I can't say enough about.
