This is a crowd favorite for a reason. Lots of vegetarian options which is very convenient. I love the vibes and the drinks were quite delicious as well. Family style is the best way to eat at Thip Khao so that you can try as many items as possible! It’s definitely worth the hype

Flavorful food for a great price, and a wonderful atmosphere. Really loved how kind the staff were, and I really can't describe how well they invited the spices into every dish. It's good to get a variety of appetizers and mains if you are with a group, and just share amongst all of you. We also ordered some of the drinks; these weren't as yummy as the food, but an average 7/10. You'd be better off ordering a regular hot tea. The drinks had the hint of the Asian flavor, but something about the ratio was incorrect which listed the quality (e.g too much milk, the wrong mix of alcohol, etc). But decent overall!

So delicious. The food was great. We went for early dinner with reservation. Parking was a hassle so get there early. We had three mains for two people. Was too much but definitely worth the trip. Would highly recommend. Had fried rice, curry noodle and crispy catfish.

Green salad was a bit salty but our waiter’s recommended dishes were very good. Fried yellow noodle was our favorite - flavorful and was different than typical dishes we could find at SE Asian restaurants.

This is the best asian food I have ever had. I found this place to be recommended everywhere on reddit and decided to give it a try. We got the peanut salad, prawn glass noodles and grilled chicken hearts. The chicken hearts were an out of the world experience. It reminded me of my childhood. The peanut salad was lip smacking delicious. The noodles were tossed in a sweet sour sauce and tasted perfect. We will be back to try the other items.

Came with high expectations and were more or less content with the experience. The lump crab and mushroom noodle dish was so close to being perfect, but it was unnecessarily salty. Detracted from the otherwise subtle flavors and lovely presentation. The chicken skewers were very good, but once again the dipping sauce was saltier than needed. And I like salt. Prices are fairly high but not unreasonable. Good outdoor and indoor seating options. Will be back for sure.

Hey foodies, gather around because I just had an EPIC dining experience at Thip Khao in Washington DC! 🌟 Let me spill the tea on this 5-star gem that deserves all the love and attention. #FoodieHeaven Let's dive right into the food, shall we? Brace yourselves for the heavenly "Bangkok Street Food Sampler." Seriously, folks, this plate is like a one-way ticket to flavor town. And don't even get me started on their "Lao Sausage" – it's like a party in your mouth that you won't want to end. 🌭🔥 But wait, there's more! 🍛 The "Papaya Salad" is a burst of freshness that'll transport you to tropical paradise. And if you're a fan of curry (who isn't?), the "Keng No Mai Gai" is an explosion of creamy goodness that'll have you begging for more. The best time to hit up Thip Khao? Definitely go during their weekend brunch. Trust me, you'll want to treat your taste buds to their insane "Khao Piak Sen." It's like a big warm hug in a bowl, and it's perfect for those lazy brunch vibes. 🍜☕ Now, let's talk ambiance. The cozy vibes make it a perfect spot for a chill dinner with friends or a romantic date night. The staff is friendly and ready to guide you through the menu if you're new to Lao cuisine – major thumbs up! So, fellow foodies, if you're ready to embark on a flavor adventure that'll blow your mind, Thip Khao is THE place to be. Trust me, you'll leave with a happy heart and a full belly! #FoodieApproved #FlavorFiesta

Just absolutely delicious. Got the only red wine on the menu and it was such a wonderful pairing with both our meals. A fruity, slightly dry wine to match the heavy, hearty food. Have come back many times and will continue. I think my only comment would be on the noise level when it gets really busy but that seems normal these days.

Was entertaining a friend from California who loves spice and flavor. Thought this would be perfect. Papaya salad was amazing. Whole fish had too much sauce and no flavor. We tried to order other dishes but our server was distracted and we left to get late night snacks. Would go again but with lowered expectations.

I just really love this place. Laos and Cambodia share similarities in culture and traditions that is why these foods are so much like home. I love thé fish they have and the stir fried that I ordered. They were all really good. The Thai tea here is definitely one of the best.
