My daughter and I loved this place when we visited 3 years ago. On Friday we came back to town and made a point to have lunch here. It was just as good as we remember, we will definitely be back :-) Great food and wonderful service!
The food & service were great! I ordered the combination noodle bowl & the best part is I didn’t wait long for my food! I traveled with 2 teenagers & they both loved the food as well. I will definitely go back next I’m in DC!
I had pho noodle with beef. You can also try pho with beef and brisket and there are also other options too. There are a bunch of food options on their menu. This is in Chinatown and you can get here by metro. The food is good but not great compared to the one I had in Virginia. The restaurant is spacious and the restrooms are clean. Not wheelchair accessible.
Only two servers in the restaurant. They seemed to have a attitude but they actually will listen what you say. They never came to you until you came for them. Tho, the missing one star is for the service. The pho#1 is good. I like pho and I can never have enough of this beef soup.
Had to wait in line to go in. Doing so, my expectations started to get high. Unfortunately, my expectations weren't. I found the pho a bit too bland. Dumplings were great though
Excellent service by Du & Dong... I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying a vegetarian pho with extra mushrooms and no tofu 😋 The Pho Bowls are reasonably priced for the size of the bowl. The beers are also reasonably priced... the ambiance is also appealing.... will be stopping here more often after work for a quick bite especially during the winter season
Holy cow. Delicious.
Very fragrant broth. I mean, so delicious.
If I had a complaint to give, it would be that the crab rangoon we ordered was mostly cream cheese. I think I found like one tiny nugget of crab inside, but I would hardly call that an issue, the main dish was absolutely fantastic.
We enjoyed this place. We got the seafood and the vegetarian pho. We so had the summer rolls and the rice noodle bowl with chicken. It was good. Social distancing was observed. Decor was nice. I would recommend this place.
Tasty authentic pho — all tasted freshly prepared, the prawn soup was delicious — not lots of seating so maybe book ahead if you want to ensure a table, I ate alone so table for one was easy with no booking required.
I absolutely do not understand the lower star ratings for this outstanding neighborhood Pho house! I've lived in the area, but this is my first visit. The service was attentive, but not overbearing, polite an efficient. My Pho Tai Chin was absolutely superb. A wonderful balance of flavors for the broth, and a very generous helping all the stuff inside the soup as well as the plate of addings.
I will absolutely return, and highly recommend the restaurant, if you want authentic, wonderful, tasty Pho.
Pho 88 has truly set a new standard for Vietnamese cuisine in the DMV area. Having dined at numerous establishments across Eden Center, Stafford, Falls Church, and Silver Spring, I can confidently vouch for the exceptional quality of their bun thit nuong. The presentation is nothing short of spectacular, reminiscent of a culinary masterpiece. The shrimp and pork vermicelli, in particular, stands out with its remarkable blend of flavors and textures.
Having experienced North and Southern Vietnamese styles, I appreciate the nuanced differences, and Pho 88 excels in capturing the essence of both. Their commitment to excellence is evident not only in the tantalizing taste but also in the meticulous presentation. Unlike many places that resort to styrofoam boxes and sloppy arrangements for takeout, Pho 88 maintains a level of sophistication that enhances the overall dining experience.
Having explored 31 Vietnamese locations, I can confidently state that Pho 88 boasts the best vermicelli noodles. Their attention to detail and dedication to representing this dish authentically, regardless of the diner's background, truly sets them apart. Whether you're a connoisseur of Vietnamese cuisine or a newcomer, Pho 88's culinary prowess and commitment to quality make it a standout choice.
The broth here was rich and flavorful. Though it came at a higher than average price for the dish, I enjoyed it thoroughly. This is definitely one of the best bowls of pho I've had in the DMV area. The atmosphere was quiet and the space was quite small, but I enjoyed the lunch I had there.
