I had the opportunity to visit the Starbucks inside the Holiday Inn National Mall multiple times during my recent stay, and it was an interesting mix of experiences.
First, let's focus on the positive aspects. The location of this Starbucks is incredibly convenient, especially for guests at the Holiday Inn, as it has its own entrance right next to the L'Enfant Metro Station. This made it incredibly easy for me to grab a coffee and snack before heading out to explore the National Mall.
Most of the staff at this location are truly fantastic and seem dedicated to providing excellent service. They hustled to keep the flow going, ensuring that orders were prepared efficiently and accurately. Their dedication to their work was evident, and I appreciated their efforts.
Now, on to the downside. Unfortunately, there was one employee who seemed to be bringing the whole operation down. It was apparent that his coworkers were frustrated with him, and he was known for making numerous mistakes. This was a bit disappointing as it occasionally slowed down the otherwise smooth operation of the store. It's my hope that this employee can receive the support and training needed to improve his performance.
In terms of the drinks and food, they were consistent with what you'd expect from any Starbucks location. The quality was on par with the chain's standards, which is always a reassuring factor when you're craving your favorite Starbucks beverage or treat.
In summary, the Starbucks inside the Holiday Inn National Mall is a convenient spot to grab your daily caffeine fix, especially if you're staying at the hotel or using the nearby metro station. Most of the employees are dedicated and efficient, although there was one notable exception that could use some improvement. Overall, it served its purpose well during my stay.
Amazing experience. Carlin was super knowledgeable and helpful. He was very polite and patient. There aren’t many Starbucks that provide excellent customer service like this location, I will definitely be coming back!
This was a great Starbucks location. Best mango dragonfruit refresher we've been made in America (having had plenty in multiple locations across NYC and Florida). We also were able to find both the Washington DC and Virginia "Been There" souvenir mugs and when one had a damaged box the server was more than happy to change it for us. The only downside was they were getting a delivery when we visited and we got in the way a lot, which the delivery guy made clear he wasn't very happy about!
Amoree is a wonderful person. I came at 6:59 PM. They literally closed the door, but she served and gave me my Chia latte with almond milk. Thank you so much for saving my evening shift.
Best place to stop on your way to work. Drinks made to order with minimal wait. Staff is extra friendly.
Nice for a quick bite and coffee in the morning. Service was very friendly! The dining area is small, so this Starbucks seems more like a take-away place.
Always like finding new Starbucks and trying out the drink I make from different locations. The crew did an outstanding job when we were there. They were super busy and got everyone's order done quickly. Thanks your crew rocks. Fellow Starbucks drinker from Rhode Island
It was a Starbucks. It was small didn't have much seating had to go into the hotel lobby to sit down. It had coffee so it's served its purpose
Because of another office building location closing, this is my new starbucks home. Sometimes the wait can be very long due to the amount of online orders and in person orders, but the baristas have always been nice when given patience. Today they greeted everyone at the door which was very welcoming.
Reminds me of Starbucks from days gone by - cheerful, efficient staff with a focus on customer service. If Cyn isn’t already a manager, promoter her immediately!
