As always, food was amazing. Our waiter could’ve been a bit more friendly but I won’t nitpick. The carpet is disgustingly sticky, like it hasn’t been cleaned since the place opened. The margaritas are pretty average. La Lomita is one of the tastiest Mexican spots in DC and DEFINITELY on that side of town!
We order from this restaurant regularly as a group for work and the food is fresh and warm when we pick up the order. Just make sure that the prices are correct as last time we were told the prices had increased from what we viewed on the website. No one here, out of 10 employees has been disappointed out of all of the entrees we have tried. The salads are very good as well. We recommend it highly. The staff is not the friendliest but the food is so good we overlook that aspect.
While the place was rather small and dark, the food and service were moderate. As it is a personal favorite of mine, I was excited to learn that they offered ginger ale as one of the drink choices. I would not, however, recommend this place for people with phisycal issues, as there is little room for crutches or wheelchairs with the step at the entrance. The busiest time is Saturday Night, but it's usually rather available. There is no way to reserve a spot, but there isn't a need to. Great place to get a quick bite in my opinion.
Parking was a little bit of a problem and we couldn't read the meter because the sun made it impossible to see and we are short people and had to stand on toes to try to read it so our visit wad rushed for fear of getting a ticket but the food/service was excellent. I may have stopped here for take-out one night some mths. ago. It's a nice welcoming place to eat.
Lomita dos was our go-to Friday night date spot pre-Covid, and it continues to be our favorite part of the week even now. Eric makes us feel like family every time we walk in the door. The entire staff goes out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and they seem to love working there. Their updated safety protocols are on point. I highly recommend the carne asada and enchiladas, and they low key have the best French fries in town! The strong and delicious margaritas make it an awesome night every day of the week!!
The people elevate the experience. Great haunt for townies and on the map for daytime office workers. This is not a fancy place, but you should be going there for the simple, but well prepared food. Great margaritas too. More like a 4.5 for their exact niche.
I went in on a whim. I thought the place looked kind of sketchy on the outside, but I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. The service was amazing. The staff was prompt and kind. The water glasses are small, but mine never got below halfway. The food was great too. I'm usually a picky eater, but I loved everything.
On a Thursday evening the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu is wide with vegetarian and seafood options. Our meal was served quickly, the food arrived hot and plated neatly. Good fare all around.
With its tight cozy atmosphere, perfectly volumed music, and a great selection of truely Hispanic dishes La Lomita Dos quickly rose to the top of my list for best Mexican restaurants I've ever visited. The only issue was the terrible parking options, but well worth the headache for certs!
Only person in the place - usually not a good sign. Food and service was very good. Friendly staff with just enough interaction to provide good service. Had the Salmon Cancun, included grilled shrimp and scallops in a light cream sauce, served with rice, black beans, pico de gallo, and warm corn tortillas. Very good, nice size portions.
