Au Bon Pain Washington DC

I gave this location 5 stars just because of the manager Mark. About two weeks ago, I tried au bou pain located at 800 North Capital St NE, for the first time ever. I've been hooked every since. Yesterday, I came in for my usual, a sandwich, small soup and a drink. I get to the register hungry and happy. After the cashier rung up my items and proceeded to complete my transaction, I noticed I forgot to grab my credit card from my husband. I'm furious, pregnant and hungry. I asked if I could call my husband and have him read the numbers from my CC as well as show my ID to prove I'm the owner of the card. Unfortunately, this option was not available. However, Mark, which was the manager on duty allowed me to take my food and asked me to return the next day to pay for. He said "we work on the honest system, so, just come back tomorrow". I was taken back, especially in current times. I came back today and I ran into Mark, just the person I wanted to see, to personally thanking him for trusting me as well as his good deed. Not many times do I run into kind people. Thanks Mark for paying it forward and winning a lifetime customer of Au Bou Pain!! I will forever be a customer because of his exceptional customer service!!
