This place is black owned and with that being said a rare jewel in DC! It has great drinks and the food is a drinkers paradise. This place is vertically integrated (owns the building) and one of the only spots without gentrification in DC. The bartender lover is the greatest bartender they have here.

I'll be back!!! This is my new sport. By the way, the mixed selection of music from jazz to R&B is superb!!!
Love the energy in here. Even Mr. Tony who is a regular who sells cigars.

Went here on Saturday. The food and staff was excellent. Usif our waiter was great and very tentative. We ordered the Fried chicken wings, oxtails and salmon and grits. Best salmon cakes and grits I ever tasted. We were just in awe on how great all the food was that we asked to meet the chef to tell her personally and thank her for such a wonderful meal. We will definitely be coming back here. Truly a hidden gem!!
This is a hidden gem in DC. The place is small, but they do have an upstairs i have never been too. The people are friendly and it feels like your local bar with that friendly atmosphere. Shout out to the bartenders who make good drinks and are very informative about the drinks and menu options. We have added this place in rotation to out hang outs.
My friend and I had the oxtails, ribs, mac and cheese and green beans. Everything was very presentable, aromatic and flavorful. Veggies were cooked perfectly with vibrant colors. With both dishes the meat was exceptionally tender and very juicy. The area itself was pretty small and narrow however the atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing and casual. We both had the pleasure of meeting the owner and bartender who were very pleasant and attentive. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars because unfortunately there is some work that needs to be done as far as repairs and renovations due to a previous fire I've been told. Overall I would surely come back and dine again.
Found this place on UberEats. They actually have a Caribbean Restaurant pop up there. It’s good. It’s gives a neighborhood vibe. Don’t judge a book by its cover. Didn’t get a chance to go upstairs but there’s an upstairs area too.
Whenever a new restaurant pops up, you have your reservations about it. Hence, when I found out that I was going to a non chained restaurant, I was hesitant. Never heard of this place but I went any way. And SO glad I did. The food is amazing. This place is one of those places were you can actually go on a date or double date and enjoy the atmosphere and the company of whom you are with. From the moment we open the doors, we were greeted. From the moment we ordered, we were asked " Is everything ok?" Great customer service and great food and the interaction that you experience with the owner is a thing of the past but has been brought back to life with this establishment. I can see this in restaurant becoming more than what it is and I wish the owner God speed and much success.

Lemon pepper wings and the shrimp and grits!
Staff is cool, they let me borrow a phone charger. Felt like a home town bar surrounded by all these tourist bars, and made my night.
Those grits, dude.
Went in for the jerk wings, ended up with a free drink some very good hospitality opted for the oxtail! Best move ever, couldn't wait to get home to get at this grub! Got takeout! Tell the chef to line his takeout orders of the oxtail, with aluminum foil as to preserve the food and container! Great job, Langston Bar and Grill!
This was the best service i have ever had in dc. The waitress Brittany was an absolute treasure. For me having to go to every restaurant and ask for water and a lemon is normal but she came brought the water and the lemon accompanied the drink for starters, She came back and checked on the table enough times for us to know she was always ready to handle all of our needs and to top it all off the conversation we had with her and the food was excellent. Everything from the music the environment the food and the customer service is A1
Ps the Shrimp and grits are awesome best i have had in the city.
Decent dive bar. The sandwiches my girlfriend and I had were good. The fries were kind of soggy. It's a good place and the people are nice, as long as you're willing to roll with different etiquette than you might expect at some restaurants.
