The Angry Penguin is one of the best kept secrets in Waterford. The food is delicious. The menu is varied, including specials. I can't wait to see what the chef is cooking up on fridays. And not only is the food delicious, but well-portioned at a reasonable price. The bar is a great place with a neighborhood feel.
Appearances can be very deceiving. The Angry Penguin looks like just a neat little neighborhood tavern... which it really is, but its also a high quality restaurant with very reasonable pricing. (Higher than you'd expect for "tavern food", but much more affordable than the restaurant you'd expect that caliber of food from) The staff and clientele combine for a very pleasant experience... you won't be disappointed.
The food is always great at the Penguin. Thick sandwiches, great burgers, the fish and chips is always my go to fav. Sandy (owner) is always a delightful bartender and knows all the Waterford scoop. Highly recommended for that neighborhood feel bar/restaurant. Brian (owner) has so many eclectic dinner specials there is always a surprise. Cheers
The Angry Penguin looks and feels like a pub should. Warm and welcoming. Food is good, service friendly. I don't drink beer, but those who do say the selection is amazing. I drink the draft hard cider. Try the bread pudding. It's awesome. Sandy, the proprietress, is a delight.
Very nice husband & wife run restaurant. Food is excellent and generous portions. Reasonably priced.
Happened to be in the area and tried it out for the name. Both me and my boyfriend got one of their specials which was a burger. One of the best burgers I've had in long time! Wish I could remember what it was called and all the ingredients!
A group of friends met there recently and enjoyed a couple pitchers of good beer, wings, mozzarella sticks and the last flat bread pizza of the evening - hey, it's a tavern - we wanted tavern food!!! The wings were made spicy with black pepper - a twist on the Frank's hot sauce classic - I really enjoyed them but my friends wanted the Frank's hot sauce kind. The flat breat pizza was very tasty - although who lets the pizza run out by 7:00 in the evening? We did have to tell ourselves that we were eating "FLATBREAD" pizza, because it wasn't the real thing, even though it was good. The raspberry melba sauce cut the muster - not too syrupy and not too tart. The chef is thoughtful about the tavern classics and I'd like to go back and do a little bit more tasting through the menu.
